Actor Jo Hye-Joo is venturing into the crime noir genre with the new drama 'I'm a sinner.'
'I'm a sinner' is a crime action noir set in the lawless cities of the 1980s, when redevelopment fever was boiling, and follows Paeng-i, the era's devil who recklessly rushes toward his goals, and Saeng-dak, a survivalist gang member, as they risk their lives in one big gamble seeking to turn their lives around. It is based on a webtoon of the same name and is drawing attention for its intense worldbuilding and delicate character portrayals.
The character Bok-hee, played by Jo Hye-Joo, is a key supplier in the drug operation and Paeng-i's first love, Bok-hee. She is an instantly captivating figure with striking looks, but her unpredictable tendencies make her actions always unforeseeable. At Paeng-i's request, she joins the drug operation and shakes up the game.
Jo Hye-Joo, who debuted in the 2018 web drama 'Just Because I Was Bored,' has built a distinctive acting presence through works such as 'Search: WWW,' 'The Youngest Son of a Chaebol Family,' 'Love of the Flower Scholar,' and 'My Demon.' Last year, having added leading experience with 'To My Harry,' Jo Hye-Joo will take on the center of the crime noir in this project with a deeper level of acting, showing a completely different side from before.
Through the complex central narrative and the Bok-hee character, expectations are growing about what strong impression Jo Hye-Joo will leave with 'I'm a sinner.' The Disney+ original series 'I'm a sinner' will be released worldwide exclusively on Disney+.
