Singer Yoon Jongshin depicts the emotional contradictions of a breakup through music.
Yoon Jongshin releases the March issue of his 2026 "Monthly Yoon Jongshin," "Bulnori (with TwoFour)," today (31st) at 6 p.m. on various music streaming sites, expressing a range of emotions such as the emptiness and liberation of a breakup.
"Bulnori (with TwoFour)" is a song that captures the effort to put a period on a breakup. It portrays various emotions such as lingering attachment and solemn resolve felt in the process of burning the memories left by an ex-lover, while also expressing the relief that comes when the task of the breakup is finally completed. Through the new song, Yoon Jongshin shows that painful yet freeing emotional contradictions can coexist in one person's heart.
In particular, "Bulnori (with TwoFour)" newly reimagines "Bulnori," which was included on Yoon Jongshin's eighth album released in 2000, "A guide for people who have broken up (指針書)." The three-member band TwoFour, composed of Jang Jae-in, PERCENT and Nakji (Lee Sung-min), handled the arrangement for the repair version, creating a charm distinct from the original.
Yoon Jongshin said, "While preparing the repair, I newly realized that this song is about old love. In the early 2000s, there was no SNS, so we thought we would never see an ex-lover again. These days, instead of burning photos, people delete them, and since not everyone breaks up badly, the relationship is wrapped up like this and you move on to the next. I think this song vividly shows the difference between old love and modern love."
He added, "Although it's not a widely known song, I've been attached to it and wanted to do a repair someday, and I felt that TwoFour could introduce this song with a completely new feeling. I felt that TwoFour's musical color and texture would fit well, and I was especially confident that the dreamlike quality in Jang Jae-in's voice would enhance the song's completeness," raising expectations for the new song.
