BTS's flagship original content 'Run BTS' returns after three years.
BTS released a teaser video for 'Run BTS 2.0' on the team's official YouTube channel at 9 p.m. on the 30th. It is the first restart in about three years since the special episode in 2023. This is especially welcome news for fans who have been waiting for the group's full-unit chemistry.
The video shows the members holding a content meeting ahead of the full launch of 'Run BTS 2.0.' The members discussed rapidly changing trends and proposed various items to match them, raising anticipation for the main episodes.
'Run BTS' is BTS's flagship original variety show that has continued for about 10 years since its first release in 2015. It depicted the members' cheerful charms through various games and missions and won the love of ARMY (ARMY, the fandom name) worldwide. It was overwhelming in terms of records as well. From 2015 to 2021, a total of 155 episodes were released, and YouTube accumulated views reached about 140 million. Separately, 10 special contents released in 2022 and 2023 surpassed 130 million views, an enormous popularity. In particular, 'Fly BTS Fly Part 1,' which challenged flying yoga in 2023, exceeded 30 million views on its own.
From 2024 to 2025, the momentum continued with the spin-off content 'Run Seokjin.' Member Jin planned the solo variety show with sincerity to repay fans' love, saying he could do anything. Ultra-star guests including Korea national team athletes, Japanese actor Yutaka Matsushige, and Hollywood actor Tom Cruise appeared, drawing attention. This also proved its unique content power by surpassing 100 million accumulated views. Expectations are growing for the new ways of communication that 'Run BTS 2.0,' returning on a much larger scale, will show.
Meanwhile, according to a preview article released by U.S. music media Billboard on the 30th–31st, BTS rose to No. 1 on the April 4 chart of the Hot 100 after topping the Billboard 200. On Spotify's weekly charts (tracking period: March 20–26), they swept the global charts for Weekly Top Albums, Weekly Top Songs and Weekly Top Artists. In October, they will hold stadium concerts in Colombia, Peru, Argentina, Chile and Brazil in South America. All 46 performances, including stops in Goyang, North America and Europe, were sold out.
