Group ShinHwa member and actor Kim Dong Wan made a meaningful remark regarding Shin Hye-sung.
Kim Dong Wan said on the 30th, "Why do people keep attaching meaning to the choice to live quietly? It is that person's life. They do not owe anyone, nor do they have an obligation to explain."
Lee Min Woo married third-generation Zainichi Korean Ms. Lee A-mi, who is 11 years his junior, on the afternoon of the 29th at a location in Seoul, and questions arose because Shin Hye-sung was not seen.
At a rare gathering of ShinHwa members, fans' attention focused on his whereabouts as only Shin Hye-sung was absent. Shin Hye-sung was earlier involved in controversy after being caught on a drunk-driving charge in October 2022.
At the time, he is accused of drinking at a restaurant in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and then driving while intoxicated for about 13 km to the area near Tancheon Second Bridge in Songpa-gu, Seoul, until the next day. He and a passenger had called for a substitute driver; after he dropped off the passenger and the substitute driver left, he drove while intoxicated and was found asleep while the vehicle was stopped.
The fallout grew larger because Shin Hye-sung had previously been booked on a drunk-driving charge in April 2007. He caused deep disappointment among long-time fans and the public.
Ultimately, at the first trial the court sentenced Shin Hye-sung to six months in prison and one year of suspended execution. The prosecution appealed and the court upheld the original verdict. In the end, neither Shin Hye-sung nor the prosecution filed further appeals, and the sentence has been finalized.
Afterward, Shin Hye-sung suspended his entertainment activities and entered a period of self-reflection. Last October a report drew attention to his condition when it was reported that Shin Hye-sung was preparing to sell a building in Nonhyeon-dong.
