'Our Neighborhood baseball boss' little Giants, little Twins lineup unveiled.
KBS 2TV's new sports reality show Our Neighborhood baseball boss (planned by Kim Sang-mi, directed by Lee Jeong-uk) production team released introduction videos for Little Giants, coached by Lee Dae-ho, and Little Twins, coached by Park Yong-taek, on its official YouTube channel on the 27th and 30th.
Lee Dae-ho and Park Yong-taek fired up expectations and enthusiasm toward winning. The star coaches who will join them on that journey were revealed for the first time in the introduction video. Giants alumnus Jung Hoon and coach Park Jae-wook, the only former catcher among four clubs, will assist manager Lee Dae-ho, and legend Jung Sung-hoon, fifth all-time in KBO appearances and known as a "baseball genius," and Twins alumnus Jeong E-yoon will serve as trusted men for manager Park Yong-taek.
The youth players on Our Neighborhood baseball boss are composed of 12 players per team, targeting third- and fourth-graders in elementary school. To select the finest players representing each region, the managers and coaching staff held large-scale tryouts for about 60 players and personally selected prospects and formed the teams. In particular, 176 people applied for the Little Twins recruitment targeting nine districts of Seoul, showing strong interest in Our Neighborhood baseball boss.
First, the Busan little Giants assembled 12 players led unanimously by the successful candidate "little giant" Kim Jun-seok: fearless competitor Son Han-yul, leadoff hitter with speed Lee Ye-seung, practical pitcher Lee Jun-seo, crafty infielder Hwang Seung-hyun, tenacious catcher Song Rak-yoon, outfield anchor Kang Ju-ho, first baseman and successor to Lee Dae-ho Kang Min-chan, growth-oriented all-rounder Lee Do-young, reliable hit machine Seon Ye-jun, third-grader Hong Seung-woo who is showing a skill surge comparable to the older players, and Ju Han-gyeom.
Next, the Little Twins include captain Choi Jin-ho, steady catcher Kim Su-hyun, super shortstop Yoo Young-bin, versatile all-rounder Seo Ji-an, ace Kim Seo-hoo, speedy contact hitter Min Jun-woo, defender with notable sense Yoon Si-on, defensive wizard and "post-Park Hae-min" Kwak Do-hyun, youngest but top-tier third-grader Lee Ji-hyeok, team mood maker Kim Chan-young, multi-player "Little An Kyung-taek" Hong Jae-wook, and leading candidate for monster No. 1 starter Kang Jun-young.
After warming up with basic training and practice games ahead of the full opening, attention is focused on what performances the little Giants and little Twins will show in the league.
Our Neighborhood baseball boss will next release introduction videos for Kim Tae Kyun's Little Eagles and Na Ji-wan's Little Tigers to build anticipation. Interest is also focused on the four distinct team colors and chemistry.
Meanwhile, Our Neighborhood baseball boss is a program in which KBO legends Park Yong-taek, Lee Dae-ho, Kim Tae Kyun, and Na Ji-wan each select U-10 (under-10) youth players directly from the home regions of their former clubs, form teams and compete in an actual league. Park Yong-taek will lead Seoul's Little Twins, Lee Dae-ho will lead Busan's Little Giants, Kim Tae Kyun will lead Chungcheong's Little Eagles, and Na Ji-wan will lead Gwangju's Little Tigers as managers, making their managerial debuts. It will air on KBS 2TV on Apr. 12 at 9:20 p.m.
