The mixed-gender group KARD member Jeon Somin's solo EP has taken shape.
Jeon Somin at 12 a.m. today (31) posted the first EP 'UNVEIL' Highlight medley on KARD's official YouTube channel.
The released video begins by opening a 'SOMIN' folder on an analog monitor. Unreleased cuts capturing Jeon Somin's diverse charms cross over vintage textures, increasing immersion.
According to this, 'UNVEIL' includes the dance-pop track Love Me Like A Fan, which combines a simple synth pluck melody with trap rhythms; Keep It Cute, which features a heavy trap drum sound complemented by an attractive xylophone sound; the uptempo track Got It Like That, which pours out a refreshing melody over a bouncy beat; Como Yo A Ti, which blends dembow rhythm and reggaeton sound with Spanish lyrics; and Closure, a song expressing sincerity toward fans that maximizes Jeon Somin's vocal charm.
In particular, the title track 'Backseat' is a pop track that blends a minimal yet heavy beat with low bass and addictive synth sounds. Jeon Somin participated in writing the lyrics herself, demonstrating her musical ability, and it is characterized by her provocative vocals casually conveying an attitude of moving forward without wavering amid gossip and noise.
'UNVEIL' is an album that strips away the countless modifiers that have adorned her name and focuses on the essence of solo artist Jeon Somin. Jeon Somin will demonstrate a limitless spectrum by flexibly crossing genre boundaries from R&B to trap to reggaeton, and will present her musical direction as a solo artist.
Jeon Somin's first EP 'UNVEIL' will be released on various music sites on Apr. 2 at 6 p.m.
