Im Chang Jung recalled the time he announced his retirement.
On the 30th episode of tvN STORY 'What good is leaving behind' aired, Jeong Sun-hee, Im Chang Jung, and Kim Yong-gun appeared and reminisced about 'The people of Geumchon-dak'.
That day Im Chang Jung said he even wrote 'A Glass of Soju' himself. He explained, "I wrote the lyrics on the way to the recording."
Despite having tremendous popularity at the time, Im Chang Jung announced his retirement from the music industry after this song. It was to concentrate on acting. After retiring as a singer, Im Chang Jung appeared in various films and joked, "Seo Taiji was retiring and that looked so cool."
In the end Im Chang Jung returned as a singer six years after his retirement, and regarding that he said, "I was more nervous than at my debut. Kim Chang-ryeol told me, 'When you can sing, do it again. You'll regret it. Fans are waiting to hear your voice, and later even if you want to sing you won't be able to. Pull yourself together,'" saying Kim Chang-ryeol's advice was a great help.
He said, "I released 'Long time no see' after a long time. It immediately lined up the charts," adding, "Then Super Junior came out and knocked them all down," which drew laughter.<
