'Gippeun Woori Joheun Nal' actors expressed their wish to surpass a 20% viewership rating.
On the 31st broadcast of KBS1's 'Achimmadang', new daily drama Gippeun Woori Joheun Nal actors Yoon Da-hoon and Moon Hee-kyung and the on-screen sons Yoon Jong-hoon and Jung Yoon appeared as the first guests on the new segment "With the renowned one."
That day, Yoon Da-hoon and Moon Hee-kyung, who appeared with a skit, promoted Gippeun Woori Joheun Nal. Yoon Da-hoon hung a wreath ribbon reading "viewership 20% let's go!" around his neck and said he had come on the first day of the "With the renowned one" opening, and receiving that good energy he would bow deeply with the thought of receiving applause and love from everyone and surpassing a 20% viewership, asking for everyone's support, which drew laughter.
He said about the drama, "I can't talk about it. It's so fun. Our most important thing is the director's directing. With delicate, detailed directing he draws out all of the actors' emotions. The casting is also great. Many people wondered how they could gather these actors to make a drama. There was a lot of surprise."
Moon Hee-kyung also said, "When Yoon Da-hoon was announced to appear as my husband I said, 'This will work, it'll be a hit,' 'It's great,' and our chemistry is very good and there are many funny scenes. Viewers will really enjoy it,' saying the solid acting chemistry among the actors and adding, "The actors who gather together are amazing, and the director's ability seems remarkable for getting those actors together."
After that, the segment "decisive scenes of my life" continued. Through this, Yoon Da-hoon shared the recent news that he had become a grandfather. In the past, when he enjoyed his heyday with 'Three Friends' and created a stir by revealing he had been an unmarried father, he said, "My daughter comes before (my granddaughter). I am more fond of my daughter," expressing deep affection for his daughter.
Meanwhile, Moon Hee-kyung recalled that on Sept. 28, 2021, she had to keep a schedule even after receiving news of her mother's death. She said, "My hometown is Jeju Island, and at that time my mother was battling terminal cancer and passed away after a year. On the day my mother died I was in Jeju filming a commercial for several days. I received a call the morning of the last day saying my mother had died. I couldn't stop the last shoot. If I alone stopped, many people would be affected. After much thought, I hid that my mother had died and finished the shoot that day. After finishing the shoot safely without telling anyone, I told the director and staff, 'Actually my mother died this morning but I finished the shoot; I have to go quickly now,' and the staff all cried. I think an actor's fate is like that. Because it's a promise, you have to keep it, so even if a parent dies, I think you must keep filming in any case. I think my mother would have been prouder of her daughter coming back after finishing the work.' She became tearful, evoking sympathy.
Yoon Da-hoon also said about his mother, "I met my daughter when I came home on leave while I was in the military. As a soldier, my parents raised my granddaughter when she was an infant. She raised my daughter and granddaughter with a mother's heart as a grandmother, so there is even more affection," and Moon Hee-kyung gave heartfelt advice, "It's so sad that while we take so many photos with fans, there are not many photos taken with your mother. Take many photos with your mother while she's alive. Then you can look back on them later."
Yoon Da-hoon also recalled the time when he was the top-earning celebrity with 48 commercials, drawing attention. He said, "That was in 2000, so 26 years ago. I did so many commercials that I think I was Asia's first No. 1 individually. I shot a total of 48. I did all the commercials you see on TV now—computers, cars, cosmetics, telephones, etc." He candidly added about his current wealth, "I earned a lot and I spent a lot of what I earned; I tried various things. No regrets. I guess I do have some regrets," which drew laughter.
Especially in the latter half of the broadcast, Yoon Jong-hoon and Jung Yoon, who play the two sons in Gippeun Woori Joheun Nal, made a surprise appearance, drawing astonishment. Moon Hee-kyung said, "In Gippeun Woori Joheun Nal they play the two sons. They are the pillars of our family. Among these two sons there is a birth secret. There is hidden pain that you will only know if you keep watching the drama," and added, "The eldest son takes after his father and is affectionate and very mannerly toward women. The second son is clumsy but charming. He brings out a protective instinct. You want to embrace him. They have contrasting charms. It's very reassuring. I don't feel anxious on set," praising their appeal and raising expectations.
Both actors also went through long periods of obscurity. Jung Yoon said, "I debuted in 2004 and 2005 on KBS1's 'School 2'. In a way this year marks my 21st year. But I was obscure for 15 or 16 years. For the first time I moved from obscurity; I'm still not that famous, but in 2019 I played the lead Bu Seol-ak in KBS1's 'Amazing Legacy' and that connection with KBS continued," and recounted a touching anecdote: "Actually I only have my mother. My father passed away around this time in 2021. He passed away when the cherry blossoms bloomed, so the anniversary is coming. I think of my father a lot. The one thing I feel I did for him was, because my obscurity lasted so long, I couldn't tell my father's friends much about my acting. But in 2019, when I played a lead, a banner saying 'Gurye's son' was hung in my hometown of Gurye in South Jeolla Province."
Then Yoon Jong-hoon said, "I actually started as an extra and had roles where I sat without lines, so this moment is precious," and added, "My greatest honor right now is appearing on 'Achimmadang.'"
Afterward, they answered questions from viewers, and when asked about the viewing points of Gippeun Woori Joheun Nal, Yoon Jong-hoon answered, "That there are 21 of the best, top actors," and Moon Hee-kyung noted, "We've been filming about two months and the chemistry is so good. At the first reading my husband and I matched so well it felt like we'd worked on three or four projects together, and we even joked about aiming for best couple at the year-end awards," highlighting their fantastic chemistry.
Later Moon Hee-kyung revealed a viewership pledge, saying, "If we reach a 20% viewership, our family will dance in Myeong-dong, which is hot and full of foreign tourists these days," which surprised viewers.
Finally, when asked for "one phrase that gave strength in my life," Yoon Da-hoon expressed the wish "don't fall and keep going" along with "let's get 20% for Gippeun Woori Joheun Nal," and Moon Hee-kyung shouted, "What's life—just go straight. We're getting 20%." Yoon Jong-hoon said, "Jin-in-sa-dae-cheon-myeong: do your best and leave 20% to heaven," and Jung Yoon urged, "Sincerity gets through.
