Actor Han Guru opened up about the real struggles of parenting twins alone.
On the 31st, the YouTube channel "Geurunikka Mal-iya" uploaded a video titled "What do I feed them today? A slapdash recipe that targets the twins' tastes."
The video shows Han Guru cooking herself for her twin children.
Before cooking, Han Guru said, "Actually, cooking is so stressful for me. I used to be someone who couldn't even get the rice-to-water ratio right, but since I have to feed the kids, I started looking things up on the internet and cooking. I also developed some of my own recipes. They're nothing special, but I wanted to share them, so I greet you from the kitchen," recalling that she married at a young age.
Later, while cooking, Han Guru said, "But I'm scared of my kids. Sometimes the phrase 'raising children is pointless' comes to mind," and added, "My kids think they lived with the helper when they were little. I raised them with my body and effort," she said.
She continued, "Because there are many helpers around, the kids say, 'Didn't we have that too?' It's an absurd thing to say," and explained, "There wasn't a helper. The children have no memory of being young. I took care of everything alone. The only memory of a helper was the postpartum care worker who commuted for three months after leaving the postpartum center."
She also said, "Because I was so young, I was respectful toward older people, which became very uncomfortable. I couldn't sit still," and explained, "Either way, the twins have to be looked after together. I had to stay home. So I thought it would be better to just take care of them myself."
She also recounted continuing childcare without help from her parents' home. Han Guru added, "(My mother) is not that kind of person. Now she tries to see them. If my mother had seen them from when they were young, it would have been less difficult, but doing what she didn't want to do now must be hard for her."
Meanwhile, Han Guru married a noncelebrity nine years her senior in September 2015 and gave birth to twins, but after divorcing in 2022 she has been raising the two children alone.<
