A university classmate of mukbang creator Tzuyang, who is accused of reporting to a YouTuber the false claim that Tzuyang vomited after eating, received a summary fine.
On the 30th according to legal sources, Judge Kim Jae-hak of Criminal Division 11 at the Seoul Central District Court on the 6th issued a summary order of a 7 million won fine to Mr. O, who is accused of defamation under the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection.
Mr. O is accused of reporting in November 2020 to the YouTuber Jujakgambyeolsa the false claim that 'I witnessed traces of vomiting on the day Tzuyang did the giant pasta mukbang.'
Jujakgambyeolsa revealed that content on a YouTube broadcast in July 2024.
Tzuyang's agency filed a complaint against Mr. O with the Seoul Hyehwa Police Station. The prosecution received the case in December 2024, conducted supplementary investigation, and last month filed a summary indictment against Mr. O.
Meanwhile, Jujakgambyeolsa was sentenced to one year in prison with a three-year suspended sentence after being found to have extorted tens of millions of won by threatening to reveal Tzuyang's private life.
