MBC 'Manitto Club' season 3 members captivated viewers as they finally gathered in one place after a hair-raising gift delivery operation.
On the 29th broadcast of MBC entertainment program 'Manitto Club' episode 9, Cha Taehyun, Park Boyoung, Lee Sun-bin, Hwang Kwanghee and Kang Hoon, hiding their identities, delivered "cheer" gifts in their own ways. For a perfect Undercover operation, they mobilized everything from recruiting family members·citizens to disguises and chase sequences, delivering harmless dopamine and laughter in full.
The awkward but wildly inventive gift operations of Manitto novices were impossible to take your eyes off. Kang Hoon even recruited citizens and threw a bouquet at Hwang Kwanghee to show his passion, but was then toyed with by Hwang Kwanghee while wearing a paper bag over his head, provoking bursts of laughter. There was also the bold introvert who delivered a voucher using the unprecedented 'airdrop' method. After a tense standoff with Hwang Kwanghee separated by a glass window, Kang Hoon barely succeeded in delivering the gift by taking a phone and fleeing.
Despite being a Manitto novice, Cha Taehyun added laughs with his exceptional entertainment experience. He planned a "girl fan event" for Kang Hoon, recruiting his daughter Tae-eun and his daughter's friend as Manitto agents and even having them ghostwrite cheering messages, showing a relaxed demeanor. Promising incentives as well, the real father-daughter banter over and over provoked laughter. Cha Taehyun instructed agents disguised as "girl fans" to deliver two roses and fabric deodorizer and personally completed a perfect Undercover operation by secretly placing a 1g gold card in Kang Hoon's car.
For Cha Taehyun, who became the "boss," Park Boyoung made a rustic but heartfelt nameplate herself with a cute clumsy charm befitting her "Ppobully" image. With Jo In-sung's help she infiltrated the agency but was embarrassed to find there was no separate office for the boss, drawing laughs. After asking Cha Taehyun's wife for advice, she also secretly tossed a pair of sneakers into Cha Taehyun's car. Park Boyoung, thrilled by the narrowly successful operation that brushed past Cha Taehyun, said she "burned white. It's so thrilling," and was happy from the dopamine that made her heart feel like it would burst.
The operations of the next-level "gift masters" also raised dopamine. Hwang Kwanghee boldly drew on his chase experience from 'Infinite Challenge' in going after his Manitto Lee Sun-bin. Dressed in Lee Sun-bin's nickname "pea" concept outfit and approaching daringly, Hwang Kwanghee delivered a "bean orchid" that hit Lee Sun-bin's taste and a letter, heightening tension with a breathless chase. Hwang Kwanghee even added warm emotion by staging an impromptu karaoke event inside the car for Lee Sun-bin.
The event Lee Sun-bin prepared for her 8-year friend Park Boyoung was another highlight. Planning an early birthday party for Park Boyoung, Lee Sun-bin even wore a horse mascot costume and transformed into a real part-timer, boosting immersion from delivering invitations and showing off her skills as a "pro eventer" with a record-setting party. Arriving at the agreed location, Park Boyoung praised the Manitto cheer gifts — from a balloon flower path to citizens' cheers and a birthday song and food collected by foot — saying, "They say they're clumsy, but it was a perfect event. I'm the happiest person today."
Finally gathering in one place, the first meeting of the 'Manitto Club' season 3 members raised expectations even more. The members, who assembled by train for a two-night, three-day workshop in Ulsan, checked each other's faces and reacted in surprise, saying, "How did you all gather like this?" Especially the reunion of Cha Taehyun and Park Boyoung, who played father and daughter in the film 'Speed Scandal,' Cha Taehyun and Kang Hoon, who became close through travel variety shows, and long-time friends Lee Sun-bin and Park Boyoung — the meeting of a complete group who know each other better than anyone else created a family-like, friendly atmosphere from the start. But the greeting was short-lived as they continued a high-level deduction game and acting while hiding their identities, making viewers look forward to the next journey.
Meanwhile, at the end of the broadcast, the family-like chemistry of the season 3 members reached new heights, and Ulsan Wels, the KBO League's only civic club, lifted the veil as the "secret Manitto," heightening curiosity. MBC 'Manitto Club' airs every Sunday at 6:05 p.m.
