The couple in their fourth year of marriage, Choi Seok-gu and Cha Kyung-ah, appeared and opened up about their love story.
On the 30th, on KBS 1TV's Morning Yard special couples segment, the couple, who overcame a 17-year age gap, Choi Seok-gu and Cha Kyung-ah, appeared and talked.
That day, Choi Seok-gu said he met his wife through 6 o'clock My Hometown. At the time he was staying at his wife's parents' house, and he was introduced through a matchmaking arrangement by his father-in-law and mother-in-law because their youngest daughter had not married.
Choi Seok-gu recalled, I think my father-in-law and mother-in-law didn't know my exact age. On portal sites I am listed as born in '69. I am actually born in '63. My mother-in-law thought being a decade apart was fine. My sisters went crazy when they found out.
Cha Kyung-ah also lamented, The age gap was so big I didn't like it. I had no thought of marriage, and I felt very burdened because he was someone who appears on broadcasts.
Choi Seok-gu said he proposed meeting Cha Kyung-ah but was rejected three times. Choi said, When Cha Kyung-ah walked toward me she was glowing. I told her right away, 'You're prettier in person,' and she said, 'You look young in person, too.' Then she said, 'If you're in a hurry to get married, I'm not interested so don't waste time.' But she was so pretty I looked forward to the next meeting.
In response, Cha Kyung-ah said the husband was about to turn 60 in a day or two at the time. I only thought about the age when we met, but he was much younger than I expected. While on a date we sat on a bench and he took out a handkerchief and laid it where I sat. I thought he was thoughtful and warm, and that made me decide to meet him.
