The film "The King's Warden" continues to set new box office records, surpassing 150 billion won in cumulative revenue after passing 15 million admissions.
According to the Korean Film Council (KOFIC) integrated box office network on the 30th, "The King's Warden" drew 188,447 people on the 29th.
With this, "Wangsanam"'s cumulative audience reached 15,615,945. It currently ranks third among all domestic releases in box office history. It trails second-place "Extreme Job," which recorded 16,266,641 admissions, by about 650,000. Given that "Wangsanam" drew some 400,000 people over the past weekend alone, it is expected to overtake the second spot in the historical box office rankings.
In particular, "Wangsanam" recorded cumulative revenue of 150.79063330 billion won. With a net production cost reported at about 10.5 billion won, it stands as a record for first place historically. Amid continued audience attraction, it is also setting new records in profitability.
Meanwhile, following "Wangsanam," the No. 2 film at the domestic box office is the Hollywood blockbuster sci-fi "Project Hail Mary," which drew 146,840 daily admissions and has a cumulative audience of 1,150,694. <
