Translator Hwang Seok-hee commented on allegations that he committed sexual crimes three times in the past.
On the 30th, Hwang Seok-hee said on social media, "My lawyer is currently reviewing the matter."
He added, "If the report contains parts that are not true, unverified content, or expressions that exceed the scope of legal judgment, I will consider corrections and responses."
Earlier that day, Dispatch reported that translator Hwang Seok-hee committed sexual crimes three times in 2005 and 2014. According to the report, in 2005 Hwang Seok-hee molested two women near Kangwon National University in Chuncheon, assaulted two people who tried to stop him, and in 2014 he was given a suspended sentence for attempted rape and illegal filming of a student at the cultural center where he was an instructor.
Meanwhile, Hwang Seok-hee translated films such as Deadpool, Spider-Man, Carol, Spotlight, X-Men, and Project Hail Mary. He married in 2012 and has one daughter.
