The Tving original Yumi's Cells season 3 raises expectations for the textbook example of a "hate-love romance" that Kim Jaewon will portray.
The Tving original Yumi's Cells season 3, which will be released on April 13 (directed by Lee Sang-yeob, written by Song Jae-jung and Kim Kyung, provided by Tving, produced by Studio Dragon, Mericow and Studio N), unveiled on the 30th character stills of Sun-rok (played by Kim Jaewon), a PD in the editing department of Julie Publishing who delivers "brutally honest" lines despite his sweet face.
Returning after four years, Yumi's Cells season 3 tells a cell-stimulating, relatable romance about laughter, tears and falling in love again because of an unexpected person who suddenly appears in the unstimulating daily life of Yumi (played by Kim Go-eun), who has become a star writer. Centered on Kim Go-eun, who played "Yumi herself," the addition of rising young actor Kim Jaewon and the reunion of trusted director Lee Sang-yeob with writers Song Jae-jung and Kim Kyung raise expectations.
The released character stills highlight Kim Jaewon's 180-degree different, unexpected charms that heighten excitement. Outside, his neatly styled hair and perfect suit fit leave no room for flaw. With intellectual glasses as well, Sun-rok's perfectionist side, "as if calmness is written on his face," grabs attention. But Sun-rok secretly is a confirmed homebody. After returning home, his noticeably relaxed expression reveals the reversed daily life of Sun-rok, who lives in a "low-power mode" where cells do not move outside the house, evoking smiles.
Above all, in the previously released main trailer, with Sun-rok's appearance, the rare species that appears only when Yumi is angry, the "bbak-dom," keeps surfacing, heightening expectations for the "hate-love romance." A refreshingly witty romance between Yumi and Sun-rok that will bring exciting changes to each other is coming.
Kim Jaewon, who will show the textbook example of the thrilling "hate-love romance," said, "I have long enjoyed the work from the original to the drama, so I am very excited," adding, "I fell for the work's unique thrill and Sun-rok's on-off reversed charm." He went on to say, "Yumi's Cells is Yumi, played by senior Kim Go-eun, and I think the cells are so cute and lovable," and added, "The viewers become the cells and follow Yumi's emotional line exactly. Many things happen when Yumi meets Sun-rok this time, and although he is very responsible at work, I hope viewers enjoy Sun-rok's 180-degree different, reversed charm at home," previewing and raising expectations.
Meanwhile, the Tving original Yumi's Cells season 3 will be exclusively pre-released on Tving with two episodes every Monday at 6 p.m. starting on April 13, and will air on tvN with one episode every Monday and Tuesday at 8:50 p.m.
