'The Return of Superman 2' GREE, the son of broadcaster Kim Gu Ra, showed his feelings toward his stepmother.
On the 28th episode of KBS2TV variety show 'The Return of Superman 2,' Kim Gu Ra's son GREE appeared. In response to Kim Gu Ra's opposition to the marines, GREE quickly revealed Kim Gu Ra's status as a social service agent, saying, "It seems like you opposed enlisting in the marines because my dad couldn't go proudly." Even so, GREE laughed, "But he was really proud. Someone might think you went to the marines," GREE wittily and cynically responded to the love for Kim Gu Ra's famous son GREE (Kim Dong-hyun).
GREE said, "When I said I would be on 'The Return of Superman 2' today, she asked if I would appear via VCR, if my dad would be on, and said she would help," and joked, "Because my dad used me a lot in the past."
Lee Yo-won asked, "Has your younger sister grown a lot?" About six years ago, Kim Gu Ra remarried a woman 12 years his junior and had a late child at age 52. Among Kim Gu Ra's daughter's kindergarten classmates is YouTuber Utrue.
GREE said, "My younger sibling grew a lot. She is 6 years old. She decided to go to Tokyo Disneyland with my stepmother and my sibling," and smiled warmly. He seemed to have grown to love his now-grown younger sister, and it appeared a new sense of family affection had formed. In particular, because his father remarried a woman much younger, from GREE's perspective the stepmother became more like an older sister than a stepmother.
GREE said, "I originally called her sister. On the day he was discharged I started calling her mom. I sent a text and said I was really sorry. When you gather a little courage, things change so much," which moved many people.
On that day, Takuya met his father for the first time in 25 years. Having learned that the father he had thought dead was alive, he obtained the address where his father lived. Takuya said, "I'm on my way, but I feel really conflicted. It would feel strange to suddenly show up and say I'm your son and give a present," and added, "Seeing the address move farther from central Tokyo to the outskirts, I wondered if he might be having a hard time. I thought maybe not seeing him is an answer rather than meeting and getting hurt," conveying increasingly complicated feelings.
GREE, who is close with his father Kim Gu Ra, said, "If it were me I don't think I could say anything. 'Father, how can I say anything?' " showing understanding.
Takuya said, "I thought about giving up and running away," but his father emerged as if he had never forgotten his son for 25 years. He said, "I'm sorry," and "Thank you," and cried while barely holding his son's shoulder. Takuya held back his tears for his crying father and said, "I'll come again, stay healthy," promising to return. Lee Yo-won said, "Takuya is holding back because his father is crying," as she explained Takuya's feelings and, with tears in her eyes, could not continue speaking.
