TV CHOSUN weekend miniseries "Dr. Shin" (written by Phoebe (Im Seong-han), directed by Lee Seung-hoon) is a medical thriller drama about a genius doctor who challenges the realm of the divine and a woman whose brain is ruined overnight and who is losing her soul. Focusing on the taboo "brain change surgery," it depicts an unimaginably shocking narrative that crosses love, desire and sacrifice, drawing intense attention.
In the previous episode, Shin Ju-shin (played by Jung I-chan) watched Hyun Ran-hee (played by Song Ji In), who became identical in appearance to Momo (played by Baek Seora) after the success of the "brain change surgery," and revealed intense distress and conflict over the situation in which the woman he loved matched in appearance but differed in speech and thought, raising tension.
Meanwhile, Jung I-chan causes unease with a sharp, flashing gaze in episode 6 of "Dr. Shin," which airs tonight, the 29th, at 10:30 p.m. The scene unfolds after the ending of episode 5, when Momo and Kim Jin-ju (played by Cheon Yeong-min) lie side by side on two operating tables. Shin Ju-shin fires an intense laserlike stare toward someone lying back in the recovery room as if overwhelmed by shock, drawing attention. Shin Ju-shin's expression, frozen like an ice block, creates an unsettling atmosphere, amplifying curiosity over who the person lying in the recovery room might be.
Meanwhile, in the "flash of gaze sniper" scene, Jung I-chan fully embodied Shin Ju-shin, who radiates a murderous aura, immersing the set. Jung I-chan conveyed Shin Ju-shin's complex emotions and inner thoughts—shock, anguish, desire and compassion—through a chilling glare and eyes as he looked at someone lying back. In particular, Jung I-chan drew out Shin Ju-shin's distinctive frigid charisma that seems to change the air itself with meticulous acting, further enhancing the scene's persuasiveness.
The production team said, "In episode 6 (today's broadcast), another unexpected event will occur that will bring about such a sudden change of fate that predicting it is meaningless," and added, "Please check episode 6 directly to witness Phoebe's medical thriller narrative that tightens the throat and runs wild, leaving no single scene to be taken lightly."
