"Sikgaek: Heo Yeong-man's table of home-style meals" Son Dam-bi recalled her school days when she was very popular.
On the 29th TV CHOSUN "Sikgaek: Heo Yeong-man's table of home-style meals" aired, showing Son Dam-bi grants and setting off with Heo Yeong to find Seoul's flavors.
That day Heo Yeong-man asked, "Until when did you attend school when you lived in Gildong?" Son Dam-bi said she attended elementary, middle and high school in Gildong, and Heo Yeong-man mentioned, "After school, boys lined up at the door wanting to meet Son Dam-bi (I guess)."
Son Dam-bi recalled her popular school days, saying, "In high school it was actually a girls' school, but many boys from the neighboring school came during festivals," and "they waited where the village bus stops." In response Heo Yeong-man joked, "Other buses are empty; isn't only the bus Son Dam-bi rides full?"
Son Dam-bi lamented, "My mother was really strict. My hair was even cut. Shaved. The curfew was 6 p.m. Who comes home at 6 p.m.?"
Son Dam-bi said her mother even scolded the boys who waited in front of the house. Son Dam-bi said, "The boys who waited for me really got into a lot of trouble. They were doused with water and screamed and my mother said she wouldn't leave them alone. It's famous in Gildong," and added, "I remember having a very difficult time as a middle and high school student."
