So E-hyun directly distributed the "꽈당" video, pushing Jin Se Yun to the brink of being fired.
On the 28th at 8 p.m., episode 17 of KBS 2TV weekend drama Recipe For Love (directed by Han Jun-seo, Bae Eun-hye, written by Park Ji-sook) aired, where long-standing feelings between the two families erupted into misunderstandings and a fierce backlash.
In yesterday's broadcast, Gong Joo-a (Jin Se Yun) and Yang Hyun-bin (So E-hyun) enjoyed a sweet at-home date. Yang Hyun-bin declared that although more than 30 years of bad blood between the families would not be resolved at once, he would definitely win over his parents' hearts. He especially described Cha Se-ri (Park Ki Woong) as a grateful presence who changed a family he himself had given up on, creating warmth while hinting at the fallout her all-or-nothing personality for her family could cause, raising tension.
In response, Cha Se-ri directly circulated a video of herself falling on a neighborhood community board. It was a high-level strategy to provoke Gong Jeong-han's (Kim Seung-soo) guilt and secure a commitment for a joint broadcast appearance with Yang Dong-ik (Kim Hyung-mook). But the video unintentionally became a hot topic and "witch hunt" comments rained down on Gong Joo-a, and as a result she was notified of a disciplinary committee convening. As the matter spiraled out of control, Yang Dong-ik's concern about tracking down the distributor added curiosity about future developments.
Meanwhile, Gong Joo-a, placed on leave at home, visited her mother Han Seong-mi (Yu Ho-jeong) at the hospital. Though they are a bickering, incompatible mother and daughter, Han Seong-mi adjusted her medical schedule to spend time with her daughter, showing tender maternal love. She admitted the ambition she had to make her daughter a doctor and offered heartfelt advice, "Endure it and get through it. Isn't this small compared with doing what you love?", delivering a touching moment.
At the same time, Gong Dae-han (Choi Dae-chul) accompanied Yang Dong-suk (Jo Mi-ryung) to canvass her shop. The two, full of romantic tension, clashed head-on over opinions about Gong Joo-a's incident. When Yang Dong-suk suggested Gong Joo-a might have pushed Cha Se-ri on purpose and Gong Dae-han denied it, the argument escalated out of control. In the end Yang Dong-suk stomped out saying, "Don't contact me again," and their relationship rapidly cooled.
Also, Gong Jeong-han (Kim Seung-soo) apologized to Yang Dong-ik. He expected Yang Dong-ik would use the accident as an excuse to press for a broadcast appearance, but he was puzzled by the unusually quiet reaction. In fact, it was all part of Cha Se-ri's meticulous calculation. She judged that if she demanded an immediate answer, Han Seong-mi would sense the provocation. Sure enough, Han Seong-mi suspected with sharp logic that this incident might be Cha Se-ri's self-made stunt, and the two set up a tense confrontation.
Afterwards, Han Seong-mi shuddered imagining her future daughter-in-law tormenting her, and Gong Joo-a, hearing this, amusingly imagined everything from the honeymoon with Yang Hyun-bin to harsh married life. Gong Joo-a immediately went to Yang Hyun-bin to ask whether they would live together after marriage, and Gong Dae-han, seeing this scene, declared that Yang Hyun-bin must stay away, creating an odd tension.
Toward the end of the broadcast, Gong Joo-a's situation grew urgent. Her past home shopping broadcast incident resurfaced and she faced a serious crisis that might lead to dismissal. Yang Hyun-bin asked Cha Se-ri for an explanation letter, but Cha Se-ri refused, saying she would consider the intentionality. However, on the day of the disciplinary committee, Cha Se-ri appeared at the company dressed flamboyantly, a twist ending that maximized curiosity for tonight's episode 18 broadcast.
