Actor Kim Nam-gil once again drew attention by creating a performance lasting more than five hours with a fan meeting.
Kim Nam-gil held the "2026 Kim Nam-gil fan meeting GIL (G.I.L)" on the 28th at the KBS Arena in Gangseo-gu, Seoul. At the event, he presented various songs in a setlist resembling a concert, including the new solo song "I'm coming to you," which he released as a solo singer.
After the fan meeting, reviews from fans who attended the performance poured in on social media and online communities. Reviews reported that the show ran for about 5 hours and 10 minutes with a setlist of more than 20 songs, surprising many. The fan meeting had initially been announced to last about three hours. However, it far exceeded that and ended after more than five hours.
Even so, Kim Nam-gil fans joked that it was an "early finish." Previously, Kim Nam-gil had held a fan meeting that lasted about 5 hours and 40 minutes, nearly six hours. At the time, guardians asking about the well-being of daughters who attended the fan meeting even appeared on social media, leading to the joking "fan abduction" theory.
Considering this, the fan meeting started earlier than usual at 4 p.m. As a result, unlike before when fans worried about catching the last public transit, there were scenes of relaxed journeys home, and Kim Nam-gil fans appeared baffled, adding to the amusement.
Long fan meetings like this have been acknowledged by fellow entertainers and by Kim Nam-gil himself on variety shows. He recently appeared as a guest on the web variety show "Pinggego" hosted by Yu Jae-seok with close actor friends Ju Jihoon and Yoon Kyung-ho, and he awkwardly expressed embarrassment about the "six-hour fan meeting," drawing laughs.
In fact, Kim Nam-gil is known for staging fan meetings like concerts. He is serious about music, to the point that he released the solo song "I'm coming to you" produced by composer couple Rocoberry, and he prepares as many different songs as possible for fans. It is reported that at the "2026 Kim Nam-gil fan meeting GIL" he performed various songs live, from popular band DAY6's hit "To Be One Page" to his solo new song "I'm coming to you."
Reportedly, "I'm coming to you" was performed as many as four times in the setlist, including the encore. Since Kim Nam-gil rarely has the opportunity to appear on music shows, moments for fans were repeatedly emphasized.
After the heated fan meeting, Kim Nam-gil will meet fans with new works. His new film "Mongyudowondo" is scheduled to be released this year, and his appearance in SBS's new Friday-Saturday drama "Nightmare" was confirmed early, raising expectations. Attention is on Kim Nam-gil's busy schedule, working hard like at his fan meetings. <
