Singer and actor Nana will appear as a witness in the trial over the home-invasion robbery case.
OSEN reporting on the 28th said Nana is scheduled to appear as a witness at the third hearing on A's robbery and injury charge at Uijeongbu District Court Namyangju Branch on Apr. 21.
According to a person involved, "Nana had been unable to attend until now because of an official schedule that had been planned previously, but she is scheduled to appear as a victim witness on Apr. 21," the person said.
Last November, a robber armed with a bladed weapon broke into Nana's home and demanded valuables. After a scuffle, Nana and her mother subdued the robber and called the police, but in the process Nana's mother suffered a neck injury from being choked by the robber.
During that process the robber also suffered a laceration to the jaw, but the police judged that Nana's side acted in self-defense and did not file charges.
However, A recently filed a complaint claiming that the acts Nana committed while subduing the robber amounted to attempted murder, and Guri Police Station in Gyeonggi concluded there was no charge for Nana, who had been booked on attempted murder and special injury charges, and decided not to refer the case for prosecution. Nana filed an additional complaint accusing A of false accusation.
While A's trial was ongoing, the court ordered Nana and her mother to appear as witnesses. However, Nana and her mother submitted a letter explaining their absence and did not attend the second hearing; only Nana and her mother's legal representative attended that hearing.
Despite Nana and her mother's expressed intention not to attend, the court again requested their appearance as witnesses, and Nana arranged her schedule and decided to attend the trial.<
