Singer and actor Nana will appear as a witness at the trial over a home-invasion robbery.
On the 28th, OSEN reported that Nana is scheduled to appear as a victim witness at the third trial of Mr. A on charges of robbery causing injury, to be held April 21 at the Uijeongbu District Court Namyangju Branch. Nana, who had been unable to attend earlier hearings due to scheduled official commitments, adjusted her schedule and decided to attend the trial.
In this regard, Nana's agency Sublime told OSEN, "She had to request a postponement because she was unable to attend due to official commitments," and added, "It is correct that she will appear on April 21."
Earlier, in November last year, Nana was harmed by a robber who broke into her home carrying a weapon. At the time, Mr. A threatened her while demanding money, and Nana and her mother subdued the robber after a struggle and handed him over to the police.
In the process, Nana's mother suffered strangulation injuries, among other shocking injuries. The robber also suffered a laceration to the jaw during the subduing, but the police ruled the incident self-defense and did not file charges against Nana's side.
But the case did not end there. Mr. A later filed a complaint claiming that the acts Nana committed during the subduing amounted to attempted murder and special injury.
In response, the Guri police station in Gyeonggi concluded that Nana's actions amounted to self-defense and made a non-prosecution decision of "no charges." Nana has countersued Mr. A on charges of false accusation and is pursuing legal action.
At the first trial, Mr. A reportedly denied the charges, arguing, "There was no intent to rob," "I did not have a weapon," and "There was no assault."
With Mr. A's trial ongoing, the court requested Nana and her mother to appear as witnesses. However, Nana's side submitted written statements explaining her absence for two hearings, citing official schedules and other reasons, and did not attend.
Subsequently, the court set April 21 as the date for the third trial and again requested witness appearances, and Nana adjusted her schedule and decided to attend.
