Singer Baek Z Young recalled the time she failed in the dog café business.
On the 28th, a video titled "This is what Jiyoung wouldn't let me buy during our dating days.. now we're a middle-aged couple buying it together♥" was uploaded to Baek Z Young's YouTube channel.
In the video that day, Baek Z Young and Jung Seok-won went on a spring subway date. While heading to a photo studio after getting off at Sinsa Station, the two happily said, "It's the way to Geureugeu."
Jung Seok-won said, "You can turn right here," and Baek Z Young awkwardly said, "Turn right? Not left? I don't know, I don't remember."
Jung Seok-won asked the production crew, "Want to go? Geureureu is right ahead, isn't it?" and the crew replied, "Where is that?" looking puzzled. Then Jung Seok-won explained, "This is the place where this person used to run a dog café."
Earlier, in 2011 Baek Z Young opened a dog café called "Geureureu" in Sinsa-dong, Seoul, and went into business. At the time she invited the press to an opening event, and many colleagues from the entertainment industry attended the event to celebrate the opening.
Meanwhile, the production crew asked, "How many months were you open?" and Baek Z Young revealed, "About a year and a half?" saying it had closed not long after opening. The crew wondered, "But did it make any revenue?" and Baek Z Young answered flatly, "It didn't," drawing sympathy.
Later, upon seeing the place presumed to have been the dog café, Baek Z Young said, "Wow, it's completely different. This is it, honey," with delight, but Jung Seok-won pointed to another location and said, "I think it's this one. It's exactly here." That place was now operating as a barbecue restaurant, and Baek Z Young said in surprise, "This is it," adding, "They rebuilt it. This is the spot underneath."
