The group Epik High showed explosive chemistry with BTS's RM and Suga.
Epik High released a new episode titled "Are you eating? ft. BTS RM, Suga" on their official YouTube channel 'EPIKASE' on the 26th.
Epik High prepared a heartfelt home-cooked meal for RM and Suga, who returned from overseas schedules. RM said, "These days Gen Z thinks the hyungs are YouTubers," and he paid respect, saying, "If it weren't for Epik High, BTS wouldn't exist," while Epik High drew a line, saying, "YouTube comes first." The member who cooked that day, Mithra, kept up the chef concept, saying, "Anyway, they think I'm a chef," which brought laughs.
RM, watching Epik High, who are familiar with various memes, said in admiration, "I think I should learn from the hyungs," and amid the exchange of memes, Suga said, "I'm surprised this is a conversation among people in their 30s and 40s," which caused uproarious laughter. In response, Epik High showed affection, saying, "To our eyes you are always nineteen."
An episode that highlighted the friendship between Epik High and RM and Suga followed. Tablo praised Suga's exceptional cooking skills, saying, "A year ago Suga invited me for a day and made tteokguk for me," and regarding the recent news that RM obtained a driver's license he expressed disappointment, saying, "Didn't we form an alliance of people who are bad with directions?" Yet they rejoiced as they found commonalities like blood type and MBTI. Faced with Epik High's unpredictable spicy talk, RM said, "I don't know how far this will go," which drew another round of laughter.
Ahead of BTS's concert at Stanford Stadium, Epik High suggested the members take a group photo at the documentary filming site that addressed Tablo's academic credential falsification controversy, the so-called "Crying Tree," which embarrassed the members. In response, Tablo said, "It's a good place to ward off bad luck," and attracted attention by making a dramatic pledge: "If we take a photo there I'll start working on a solo album."
Next, sharing the dishes Mithra prepared by hand, they took time to look back at BTS's history from Epik High's perspective. Behind-the-scenes stories poured out that could not be seen anywhere else, from the story of first meeting Suga when he was a trainee in 2010, to the story of seeing the full BTS together for the first time in a music show waiting room while Tablo was suffering from kidney stones in 2014, to the story of Suga sending Tablo a text ahead of the 2017 American Music Awards (AMA) live broadcast. RM and Suga raised the atmosphere further with their candid talk.
Finally, Tablo discussed BTS's comeback with "Arirang" (ARIRANG), saying, "Just choosing that as the album title creates impact," and RM said, "Because we are all Korean, we thought about redefining our own Arirang." Tablo added, "It is even more meaningful that a group loved worldwide made that choice," expressing deep respect.
