Singer and actress IU and actor Byeon Woo-seok will meet 'national MC' Yu Jae-seok again. As the two confirmed their appearances on 'Pinggego' side by side, attention is also turning to their so-called joining of the 'Yu line'.
On the 27th, OSEN reported that IU and Byeon Woo-seok confirmed they will appear on the popular web variety show 'Pinggego' hosted by Yu Jae-seok. The broadcast is expected to be released to coincide with the premiere of MBC's new Friday-Saturday drama Perfect Crown.
In particular, this will be Byeon Woo-seok's first appearance on 'Pinggego', and he recently took part in filming MBC's 'Hangout With Yoo', continuing his collaboration with Yu Jae-seok. He also met Yu Jae-seok through 'You Quiz on the Block' during the Lovely Runner craze on tvN in 2024, so interest is growing in the possibility that this appearance could mark his full entry into the 'Yu line'.
IU also has a deep connection with Yu Jae-seok. Having worked together since the days of 'Infinite Challenge', this will be her third appearance on 'Pinggego'. In particular, 'Pinggego' is known to pay appearance fees to guests who appear more than three times, so this appearance is expected to be another point of interest.
Above all, the two appearing together is expected to have promotional effects for the project. Because 'Pinggego' was one of the variety shows fans most wanted to see even before its release, attention is focused on the 'three-shot' of Yu Jae-seok, IU and Byeon Woo-seok.
Meanwhile, MBC's new Friday-Saturday drama Perfect Crown is a status-breaking romance set in a 21st-century constitutional monarchy Korea. It tells the story of Seong Hee-ju (IU), a woman who has everything but is limited by her commoner status, and Grand Prince Ian (Byeon Woo-seok), the king's son who is fated to have nothing.
In the released teaser, Seong Hee-ju's bold proposal, "Marry me," and Grand Prince Ian's response, "I can't refuse," foreshadow the two's romance. But conflicts that will unfold amid opposition from the royal family and political circles are also hinted at, raising expectations.
Perfect Crown is directed by Park Joon-hwa, who directed the 'Makddaemeogeun Young-ae' series, Let's Eat 1·2, What's Wrong with Secretary Kim, and Tale of the Nine Tailed, and is co-produced by MBC and Kakao Entertainment.
