Global band hrtz.wav (Haatzwave) will fully unfold their own "youth wave" with the title track NINETEEN, for which all members participated in writing the lyrics.
Kakao Entertainment (co-CEOs Ko Jeong-hee, Jang Yoon-jung) released a highlight medley video at 12 a.m. on the 27th on hrtz.wav (Haatzwave)'s official social media and YouTube channel containing portions of all six tracks from their first mini album The First Wave. Even in the short video, the band's intense energy is condensed, raising expectations among global fans.
The highlight medley shows hrtz.wav (Haatzwave) creating a unified sound. Energetic performances from Yoon Young-jun (keyboard), Dane (bass), Kayten (guitar) and Hagiwa (drums) are overlaid by Rian (vocals)'s trendy yet emotive voice, creating moments when each member's individuality coalesces into a single sound. The differing tonal energies of each song interlock and leave a strong impression.
In particular, the title track NINETEEN is a song whose lyrics were written by all five members, and it most clearly shows hrtz.wav (Haatzwave)'s identity and musical color. The youthful narrative that honestly expresses the excitement and feelings captured in the moment of being nineteen from the members' perspectives stands out. It is completed with a bright yet gripping direct sound, further increasing curiosity about the full song and the debut stage performance.
"Arrivery" is an original song by members Rian and Dane that captures the awkward feelings of young people in love. The two previously demonstrated solid musical abilities by directly participating in writing and composing songs such as Tomorrow and "괜찮아" when they competed on Mnet's global band making survival show "Steel Heart Club." This "Arrivery," which adds synergy with the members, is also expected to be a highly complete song.
Also on the album are six songs that capture different "youth waves," from the lively sound and dynamic energy of Dream to Highlight, which calmly depicts post-breakup emotions; I AM SO FINE, which expresses post-breakup feelings with a sensuous rhythm; and Our story (Close To Me), which symbolizes the first page of the long journey the band will build with fans.
The First Wave is an album in which global iconic band hrtz.wav (Haatzwave), formed last December by five members who placed first in their respective positions on "Steel Heart Club," expresses its ambition to create a new wave in the world. It will convey the team's beginning and leap by expressing the diverse moments of youth through music.
hrtz.wav (Haatzwave) will release mini album The First Wave on April 8 at 6 p.m. through online and offline channels, and on the same day at 8 p.m. will hold a debut fan showcase at the Culture Depot performance hall in Mapo-gu, Seoul.
