The group UNIS (UNIS) celebrated its second anniversary.
UNIS (Hyeonju, Nana, Gehlee, Kotoko, Bang Yunha, Elysia, Oh Yuna, Lim Seowon) took an exciting first step into the music scene on March 27, 2024, with their first mini album "WE UNIS (We UNIS)". Since then, they have built the group's unique color with music that captures bouncy cheerfulness and pleasant energy, captivating global listeners.
The achievements they have made so far are also remarkable. In their first year after debut, UNIS demonstrated their strength by winning no fewer than 12 trophies while attending various award ceremonies. Since then, they have set new career highs with each album release, proving their ever-expanding influence.
Recently, they successfully completed their first North American tour, visiting 14 cities. UNIS is imprinting their charm around the world with fresh sensibility and energetic performances. On their second anniversary, they shared a variety of stories through their agency F&F Entertainment.
The following is the full Q&A commemorating UNIS's second anniversary.
Q. feelings on celebrating the second anniversary of your debut
Hyeonju: I still can't quite feel that it's our second anniversary. The first anniversary was moving too, but it's just amazing that two years have already passed.
Nana: There have been so many unforgettable, precious moments. Thanks to our members, EverAfter (the official fan club name), and the many people who have always supported us, we were able to come this far. I am truly grateful.
Gehlee: Every effort we've made up to now feels valuable. I feel lucky to have met the members and to have run this time together. It's an even more special second anniversary because our beloved EverAfter is with us.
Kotoko: I always feel like time passes really quickly. Maybe because there are so many memories with the members and EverAfter, the number "2" feels very big.
Bang Yunha: It feels like the "SUPERWOMAN" promotions were just yesterday, so I can't believe it's already the second anniversary. I feel proud and fulfilled that our members have worked hard over the past two years.
Elysia: Memories of the times shared with the members come to mind one by one. I am really proud of our eight members, and I want to make many more happy memories in the future.
Oh Yuna: I feel like I've grown a lot while laughing with the members and EverAfter. I'm looking forward to and happy about the many days we'll share together in the future.
Lim Seowon: The time we've had so far seems to have flashed by like a slideshow. I want to tell myself, our members who have run hard to get here, and EverAfter that you did a great job and thank you.
Q. the most memorable moment looking back on the past two years
Hyeonju: The moment we won first place on a music show with "SWICY" is the most memorable. "SWICY" is a song of UNIS that I am particularly attached to. Receiving a trophy for the song I love the most remains such a happy memory that it's hard to put into words even now.
Kotoko: The day of our debut comes to mind first. Everything was new so we were clumsy and unfamiliar, but since it was the first step as UNIS, the excitement and nervousness of that day are still vivid.
Gehlee: There were many special moments, but I will never forget the first time I visited my hometown with the members. Our Filipino EverAfter greeted us with an incredibly warm welcome. It was a time when I could feel with my whole body that we were receiving great love.
Q. is there a moment or episode when you felt the team had become stronger?
Nana: I think the team naturally becomes close through spending the most time together and exchanging opinions. UNIS has grown stronger as sincere support and quiet consideration for one another accumulated.
Bang Yunha: Gradually there are more moments when members naturally joke with each other and make each other laugh. I think relationships where we can always feel comfortable laughing and enjoying ourselves are what make UNIS closer.
Lim Seowon: I especially felt it strongly during our recent North American tour. On stage we focused on our roles, but in between we checked each other's condition and took care of each other attentively, which left an impression. Deep trust in one another seems to have made the team even stronger.
Q. UNIS has set new career highs with each album and performed on global stages. recently, starting with the "SWICY" award show stage and up to "Bombi," your songs have been loved by the public—how does that feel?
Hyeonju: Recently I've been happy, feeling that "Bombi" is loved a lot. I always hoped UNIS's songs would become representative songs that come to mind in different seasons, and with "Bombi" receiving much love this spring, I feel a step closer to that dream.
Elysia: I hoped not only the title track but also the B-sides would receive more love. I'm glad and grateful that through this opportunity we could introduce music colored with UNIS's unique style to more people.
Oh Yuna: I feel proud that the group UNIS has become more clearly imprinted on the public. These days I'm full of passion to show even better stages so we can repay the love we receive.
Q. UNIS's music is known for its bouncy cheerfulness and energy that lifts listeners' spirits. among your many songs, which one do you recommend that more people should hear?
Nana: There are many great songs among not only the title tracks but also the B-sides. Among them, I hope you listen to "Datin' Myself". This song makes your heart feel warm and fuzzy. The lyrics are so beautiful that I gain great strength every time I listen.
Kotoko: "See you again in my dreams" is a beautiful song in every way, from melody to lyrics. In particular, the line "I will always be by your side" warms the heart and makes you want to listen again and again.
Lim Seowon: I think "SWICY" has become a signature song that shows UNIS's identity. Through that promotion we gained a lot of experience and were able to grow, so I have a personal attachment to the song. I hope many people listen to "SWICY" and enjoy an energetic spring.
Q. a message you want to send to the members who have run alongside you so far
Hyeonju: UNIS! Thank you for following the words of an imperfect leader and growing properly over the past two years. I hope we continue to trust each other and move forward as we are now.
Nana: Members, just having you by my side is a really reliable strength. Let's continue to be happy together and make many precious memories.
Gehlee: I'm so proud of how wonderfully you've grown. I sincerely support each of you achieving your goals within the UNIS family.
Kotoko: I think I was able to keep growing because the members were always by my side. I want to be sure to say thank you for being with me. Let's all be happy together.
Bang Yunha: Time sometimes felt slow, and yet suddenly it's already the second anniversary. As we've done well so far, I hope we keep laughing a lot, stay healthy, and walk our own path.
Elysia: When we're together, laughter never stops, which makes it feel more precious. The members are always in my heart. I want to be together forever.
Oh Yuna: Thanks to the members who have always firmly supported each other, we were able to spend the past two years happily without getting tired. Let's make many more fun memories together.
Lim Seowon: Members, you've worked so hard over the past two years. Let's continue to be a support for each other and grow into even more wonderful idols. I love UNIS.
Q. new goals or dreams you want to achieve in 2026
Gehlee: If we can continue to be together without change, that alone would make me happy. As UNIS, my biggest wish is to cherish every moment with the members both on stage and off camera and to keep moving forward together to the end.
Bang Yunha: I want to show every charm UNIS can offer without leaving any out. Through diverse and fresh sides, I want to give fans the pleasant surprise of "so UNIS had this charm too."
Elysia: This year I want to let more people know about UNIS. I would be really happy if more people became new EverAfter and joined us.
Q. a word for EverAfter, who always send love and support
Hyeonju: You know that UNIS was able to grow so quickly over the past two years thanks to EverAfter, right? Thank you so much for loving us without holding back. I love you!
Nana: Thank you so much for always being a great source of strength for us. I want to keep making more memories together for a long time. I always love you!
Gehlee: I thought I had expressed my feelings to you a lot, but it still feels insufficient to fully convey my gratitude. Thank you sincerely for always helping make our dreams come true one by one.
