Singer Jang Hye Jin revealed an anecdote about her daughter having a life-threatening episode in the intensive care unit just 50 days after birth.
On the 26th, the YouTube channel 'Jo Hyun A's ordinary Thursday night' released content titled 'A meeting of a 35-year singer, a 17-year singer, and a 2-year-old baby, oong-ae'.
This content featured singers Jang Hae Jin and Jo Jazz. Jang Hye Jin sang live her life song "1994 one late night." She said, "Singing without a microphone feels very different. There's no microphone or monitor," and Jo Hyun A looked moved.
She then revealed, "But actually when I recorded this song, my daughter was born in '93. But 50 days after she was born, she was in such a critical condition in the intensive care unit that she even had cardiopulmonary resuscitation."
She continued, "Her eyes were even brighter and clearer than Jo Jazz's, looking at me, and tears were streaming from those round eyes—she looked like she was saying, 'Mom, please help me.' She was a child with a very strong will to live. So that period was really, really hard."
Jang Hye Jin said, "When I went home to change clothes, I would decorate the child's room, and the child would be absent, with only a lone bed in the room and a small baby crib where I would catch a nap. I smelled the baby. Remembering that, when I was recording this song, I kept thinking of that time. Especially in the second verse when the lyric 'when I am left alone in an empty room' comes out, I really couldn't hold back."
She added, "So I think I sang this song with that feeling from that time. The fact that I was choking up while singing was captured as is, and I was so, so embarrassed I said, 'Hyun Cheol, this is not okay,' and he said, 'Don't worry about it, noona. Because of this, this will become a filial song for you,' and it really became a filial song."
At Jang Hye Jin's confession, Jo Hyun A broke down in tears and sobbed uncontrollably.
