Hollywood actor Nicholas Brendan (54) was found dead at his home, shocking many, and the coroner's analysis has been released.
According to a Daily Mail report on the 26th (local time), Brendan was found by a friend at his home in Putnam County, Indiana, on the 20th. When found, he was lying in bed with a peaceful appearance as if asleep, but medical personnel who responded to the scene had already pronounced him dead.
Coroner Todd Ziner said, "No signs of homicide or criminal activity were found at the scene, and it is presumed to be a natural death." An autopsy and toxicology tests are under way to determine the exact cause of death. The family said he peacefully passed away in his sleep in connection with the chronic illness he had long suffered from.
Brendan had suffered health problems several times during his life. After suffering a heart attack in 2022, he was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect, and he was reportedly receiving medication for a specific condition until recently. The family added, "He had been receiving treatment until recently and showed an optimistic attitude about the future," expressing further sorrow.
Nicholas Brendan appeared in the drama Buffy the Vampire Slayer as well as the popular drama Criminal Minds, earning recognition for his acting. He showed a passion for the arts beyond acting, including painting, and is remembered as "an artist with a delicate and creative soul."
Meanwhile, Brendan was reportedly involved in a legal dispute with a contractor over home renovation work amounting to $120,000 (about 160 million won) until shortly before his death. The family said they have appointed a representative to continue the lawsuit to carry on the deceased's wishes.
