Returning after three years, 'Yumi's Cells season 3' depicts a cell-stimulating, relatable romance in which Yumi, who became a star writer, once again smiles, cries and falls in love because of an unexpected person who strikes like a bolt from the blue in her unstimulating daily life. Centered on Kim Go-eun, who played 'Yumi herself,' the addition of trending young actor Kim Jaewon, and the reunion of trusted director Lee Sang-yeop with writers Song Jae-jung and Kim Kyung raise expectations.
The character stills released amid high expectations catch the eye with Yumi's bright smile. Holding a bouquet of flowers received from someone and smiling radiantly, Yumi conveys the sense of stability in her daily life after achieving her dream of becoming a writer. After succeeding as a romance novelist and enjoying a peaceful daily life, Yumi's heart softens again with the arrival of producer Sun-rok (Kim Jaewon). The different look in Yumi's eyes when she shelters Sun-rok with an umbrella hints at an exciting change.
Kim Go-eun, who will once again make viewers laugh and cry and deepen empathy, said, "As I worked hard to succeed as a writer, Yumi's daily life has before I knew it started season 3 in a state of 'only work.'" she added, "She didn't know what to do besides work, and even when resting she wondered how to rest, and new concerns arose for Yumi. As Yumi's cells awaken one by one, you'll see Yumi regain her vitality."
Kim Go-eun continued, "I think the biggest reason 'Yumi's Cells' is loved is empathy," adding, "The small, detailed emotions we feel in daily life are contained in the work, and the cells don't make Yumi's situations only serious; even if it's a 'chuckle,' they make you smile, and that seems to be our common point of empathy. Meanwhile, Tving original 'Yumi's Cells season 3' will be exclusively pre-released on Tving with two episodes each Monday at 6 p.m. starting April 13, and will air one episode each Monday and Tuesday at 8:50 p.m. on tvN.
