EXO member Kai returns with season 8 of "Jeongwaja: The man who switches majors every day," showcasing even sharper variety skills.
The multiplatform content producer OOTB's franchise variety show "Jeongwaja" premieres season 8 today, the 26th, for the new 2026 school term. "Jeongwaja" is a program that tours universities across the country and reviews various departments. Following Lee Chang-seop, the first "Jeongwaja," Kai, the second "Jeongwaja," is making a strong showing and, with limitless expansion of its worldbuilding, continues to receive steady support and love from the Gen-Z generation.
In the season 8 premiere of "Jeongwaja," Kai transfers into the department of business secretarial studies at Inha Technical College, and draws attention by foreshadowing a competition with member Suho, who had served as a "substitute Jeongwaja" in his stead during a prior scheduling gap. Wearing an equally perfect suit fit as Suho, creating a subtle tension, he set out for school saying, "I will show a different tension than hyung Suho."
That day Kai said, "I learned the real meaning of my stage name 'Kai' on TV for the first time in 16 years since debut," causing a stir at the scene. In the secretary office practice, he transformed into the boss role, "Boss Kai," receiving reports from students in a roleplay that drew laughter with immersion reminiscent of drama. On campus, he also unexpectedly met a freshman who is an "EXO superfan" in their first week of enrollment and carried out a surprise interview with World Cup-level enthusiasm, generating laughs through natural back-and-forth with students.
In the "secretary practical" class that followed, he led a cheerful atmosphere as he experienced telephone reception and document creation using AI. In the impromptu telephone reception roleplay, he sharply pointed out an error, saying, "It was wrong from the start," drawing admiration from the professor. He added, "Telephone reception is harder than I thought. The world doesn't run that easily," sharing a realistic anecdote that added to the empathy.
Kai also challenged himself with a presentation in the document creation class titled "Idol-based content production analysis" using AI. Expectations are high as he plans to reveal everything from trend analysis told from the perspective of an active idol to a future vision he personally designed.
The season 8 premiere of "Jeongwaja" will be released at 6 p.m. today, the 26th, on the OOTB Studio (ootb STUDIO) YouTube channel, and will reach subscribers every Thursday at 6 p.m. thereafter.<
