Actress Hwang Shin-hye recalls a wistful first love.
KBS1's Hwang Shin-hye's Let's Live Together, which airs every Wednesday at 7:40 p.m., is a program that depicts the cohabitation life of leading single moms in the entertainment industry who struggle to raise children on their own.
In the March 25 broadcast, the three single moms preparing for "Let's Live Together" head out on their first Seoul outing for spring. Hwang Shin-hye, who planned the day's schedule herself, prepared a cooking class with Sun Mi-ja, a culinary researcher loved by top stars and called the "queen of home cooking." The three begin learning a spring-appropriate menu, "soy sauce-flavored boiled pork," and vow, "Let's learn diligently and serve it to our guests." The "soy sauce-flavored boiled pork," notable for its soft texture comparable to the Korean-style dongpo pork, is completed, and three accompanying side dishes are added. The three single moms complete a full table setting by making dau-lrae (wild chive) and chive salad, aged kimchi salad, and garlic fried rice, which pair well with the soy sauce-flavored boiled pork.
The second schedule for the three single moms is a flower class. Discovering that BTS, the world star that made a new history in K-pop, received flower lessons there, they name their favorite member while sitting in the seat a BTS member had sat in. Next, they plan bouquet gifts for their loved ones and learn how to make bouquets. From conditioning, a method of trimming flowers, to the spiral technique of arranging flowers, they spend a useful time learning easy ways to make bouquets. In particular, Hwang Shin-hye keeps adding more flowers with such enthusiasm that her hand cramps, drawing laughter. She, who usually did not like flowers and had declined flower gifts for her daughter Lee-jin, shares the joy of newly discovering a preference she did not know through this class.
For the final schedule, the two sisters visit Daehangno to support Jung Ga-eun's play. While tasting street snacks on the youthful street, Hwang Shin-hye recalls a first love who attended a nearby university, and is immersed in fresh memories of dating in Daehangno at age 20. Upon arriving at the theater, the two are surprised by Jung Ga-eun's passionate performance as a flight attendant role on stage, and when she perfectly performs a comic kiss scene they repeatedly express admiration and laughter. Praise from the sisters pours out toward Jung Ga-eun after the performance, and the meaningful Seoul outing ends even more so because they were together.
