Comedian Cho Sae-ho shared an update that he has left most programs following allegations of ties to organized crime.
On Feb. 24, Netflix Screwballs released the episode "Screwballs vs. Single's Inferno."
With Single's Inferno's Choi Minasu, Song Seung-il and Kim Go-eun appearing, the producer said, "We received a tip about Cho Sae-ho; if he could just take two steps back, the group shot would look nicer."
Cho Sae-ho reacted sensitively to stepping back, saying, "I'm going to fall into the water at this rate." Joo Woo-jae said, "You have to understand. If the camera turns off today, we can meet in a month. So you have to understand."
Cho Sae-ho said, "Today is Feb. 23. I can see the camera exactly on March 23," and Jang Wooyoung said, "I only have this schedule once a month, that's why," which drew sympathy.
Cho Sae-ho left several programs he was appearing on, including KBS 2TV's 1 Night 2 Days and the cable channel tvN's You Quiz on the Block, over suspicions of ties to organized crime. Afterward he took a break, and he has had more free time than before.
Cho Sae-ho was told off by the producer. The producer said, "Sorry, but we just received a tip that Cho Sae-ho is blocking Ms. Go-eun's one-shot, so could you take just two steps back?"
When Cho Sae-ho said, "I'm sorry. Did I block it like this? Can't I just move to the side and film?" the producer reacted, "Huh? To the staff?"
Immediately Cho Sae-ho bowed, saying, "I'm sorry," stepped back two paces and said, "Please capture Ms. Go-eun smoothly."
Earlier, Cho Sae-ho became embroiled in controversy after suspicions of ties to organized crime surfaced, and he suspended activities. Returning through Screwballs 4, Cho Sae-ho said, "From now on, I will be more careful about my surrounding relationships as I live my life. I want to apologize for causing concern. Because I was careless about relationships, I have had a lot of thoughts during this time."
