Actress Jeong Ra-el is adding fun to the series by portraying an annoying but relatable "MZ office worker."
Jeong Ra-el plays Park Na-hee, a member of the Royal Auction bidding team, in tvN's Monday-Tuesday drama (drama) Siren, taking on one axis of tense internal company competition amid a heavy mystery plot and depicting a realistic office worker landscape.
In the drama, Na-hee suspects that senior Kim Yoon-ji (Lee El)'s death may be related to chief auctioneer Han Seol-a (Park Minyoung), while also picking up on the subtle current between Seol-a and insurance investigator Cha Woo-seok (Wi Ha-jun), leading gossip and establishing herself as a source of energy for the series. Later, she becomes consumed with anxiety after losing out in the competition for the deputy auctioneer position to colleague Sang-mi (Kim Si-hyun), but in episode 8, broadcast on the 24th, she delivered a twist that raised interest.
Cornered, Na-hee made a bold move during a private meeting she earned by carrying out Chairman Kim's (Kim Geum-soon's) discreet instructions. She confidently showcased her abilities without shrinking, boldly saying, "I can do as well as senior Yoon-ji," drawing viewers' attention.
In particular, Na-hee's eyes, which change instantly at Chairman Kim's remark, "The target should at least be someone like Han Seol-a," powerfully showed the moment when her sharp hostility toward Seol-a turns into a determination to succeed. Jeong Ra-el smoothly embodies a three-dimensional character who hides ambition behind gossip and seizes decisive openings, effectively playing a supporting yet standout role.
Jeong Ra-el, who is steadily building an annoying but charming character with her own colors, is expected to continue showing what she can do in the remaining episodes.
Meanwhile, Siren airs every Monday and Tuesday at 8:50 p.m. on tvN.
