Netflix's 'Manhakdo Jissi' is whetting curiosity by announcing the unusually strong performance of its first guest Orbit.
The Netflix daily variety show 'Manhakdo Jissi' (directed by Jeong Dodam, produced by TEO), which will be released at 5 p.m. on the 30th, is a reality-based knowledge exploration variety show that breaks down the barriers to knowledge with raw questions. Even at the age of sixty, the lifelong learner Jee Seokjin, full of academic zeal, and Mimi, a member of Oh My Girl who is a genius at asking piercing questions, will serve as MCs and will appear with a wide spectrum of guests including science communicator Orbit.
The released teaser video captured the performance of Orbit, the episode 1 guest who is well known as a so-called "overly close to experts" figure. Orbit made an unusual presence from his first appearance, filling the audio even before the camera started rolling. Amid endless back-and-forth with the academically zealous Jee Seokjin and Mimi, Orbit said "Is this a congressional hearing?" which brought laughter.
Orbit's bold responses to questions about AI added to the interest. Even during the MCs' offbeat question relay, Orbit maintained the composure of a scientist and provoked bursts of laughter with oddly irritating answers. Jee Seokjin responded as if stung, saying "I'm pissed," and Mimi, hearing Orbit's words, showed excitement, saying "That's exactly like me," devastating the scene.
At the end of the video, Orbit was shown expressing regret, saying, "I didn't talk much about science; didn't I only talk about my current situation?" It heightens anticipation for 'Manhakdo Jissi,' the easiest knowledge show anyone can enjoy like a comfortable chat, not only for the chemistry shown with MCs Jee Seokjin and Mimi but also for what they will reveal together.
Manhakdo Jissi will release episodes 1 and 2 on Netflix at 5 p.m. on Mon., Mar. 30. After that, one episode will be released sequentially every Monday at 5 p.m.
