Musical "Eyes of Dawn" faced an early closure disruption, and production company representative A denied a recently released actors·staff statement.
A said, "I was never involved in management for the first and second runs of the 'Eyes of Dawn' musical, which are currently suspended due to unpaid amounts; I only lent the 'Eyes of Dawn' musical title as an outside person."
Regarding the unpaid wages for 'Eyes of Dawn' raised in the actors·staff statement, A explained, "The former production company representative is not the person in charge of the current production company. I submitted supporting documents to the police for clear defamation and dissemination of false information."
In particular, A raised his voice, saying, "As far as I know about the performance stoppage incident and its background, some parts are factual, but most of the rest are falsehoods, and it seems the current production company should have institutions with investigative authority examine this. This is something the current production company should proceed with."
Meanwhile, "Eyes of Dawn," based on the MBC drama of the same name, finished its first run from December last year through the end of January this year and was scheduled to run extended performances from March 24 to April 26, but the performances were canceled after conflicts over unpaid fees between the production company and cast surfaced.
Meanwhile, 40 actors and 23 staff members, excluding Baek Sung-hyeon and Park Jeong-a, issued a statement claiming, "The performance suspension is not a unilateral boycott but the production company's ongoing wage arrears problem."
