When Jang Young-ran's eponymous brand was caught up in allegations of coordinated scheduling with home shopping, she issued a statement.
On the 24th, Jang Young-ran posted a lengthy apology on her social media saying, "I want to first say I'm truly sorry that a recent YouTube video that dealt with matters related to the brand I am responsible for appears to have caused many people worry and concern."
Earlier, on the 23rd, the YouTube channel "사망여우TV" raised the possibility of consumer deception by mentioning circumstances in which the diet product of the brand led by Jang Young-ran coincided with broadcasts and home shopping scheduling.
The core of the allegation is that shortly after a case was introduced on a terrestrial information program showing someone achieving a large weight loss by taking a specific ingredient, Jang Young-ran appeared on a home shopping channel to sell a product containing a similar ingredient.
In response, Jang Young-ran's side had expressed the position that "we agree and reflect that coordinated scheduling is a problem, but structurally it cannot be helped."
Later, Jang Young-ran herself posted on her social media, reiterating, "As far as we have confirmed so far, we have proceeded in compliance with the relevant regulations and guidelines, and we believe there were no violations or oversights in that process. Also, we had no involvement in the production process of the home shopping or broadcast side or in recruiting participants."
She added, "Nonetheless, I accept seriously that our product was introduced through inappropriate participants, causing discomfort and disappointment to many people, and I sincerely apologize," and reflected, "I, too, have reconsidered the issue of coordinated scheduling through this video."
She bowed her head, saying, "I will take this opportunity to more carefully review from the consumers' perspective what aspects felt lacking and what led to misunderstandings or inconvenience. I will also take seriously the criticism sent through content produced after long reporting and investigation. I am sorry once again."

A recent YouTube video that dealt with matters related to the brand I am responsible for appears to have caused many people worry and concern, and I want to first say I'm truly sorry.
I am carefully checking each of the issues raised. As far as we have confirmed so far, we have proceeded in compliance with the relevant regulations and guidelines, and we believe there were no violations or oversights in that process.
We also had no involvement in the production process of the home shopping or broadcast side or in recruiting participants. Nonetheless, I accept seriously that our product was introduced through inappropriate participants, causing discomfort and disappointment to many people, and I sincerely apologize.
Through this video, I have reconsidered the issue of coordinated scheduling. I had thought it was one way to introduce the good products I worked hard to create to more consumers. But that process may have felt different to some people, and as a result I acknowledge there were parts of my judgment that were lacking.
I will take this opportunity to more carefully review what aspects felt lacking from the consumers' perspective and what led to misunderstandings or inconvenience. Going forward, I will communicate more cautiously and more carefully.
I will also take seriously the criticism sent through content produced after long reporting and investigation. I will take harsher words to heart. I will correct the parts that were lacking, think more, and move forward more responsibly as Jang Young-ran.
