Hollywood's notorious power entertainment blogger Perez Hilton (Perez Hilton, 47) was discharged from the hospital after a 21-day battle, and he revealed the horrific illness he endured caused by his "foolishness," drawing attention.
According to the Daily Mail's report on the 23rd (local time), Perez Hilton said on his YouTube channel that the mysterious illness that forced him to be hospitalized for the past three weeks was 'sepsis (Sepsis)'.
In the video, Perez Hilton stood in front of the camera looking gaunt and broke down in tears. He admitted, "My foolishness kept me hospitalized for 21 days," saying, "I had the flu for a week and took prescribed medicine, but taking medicine on an empty stomach without food was the trigger."
As a result, he developed a stomach ulcer and a perforated stomach, which eventually led to sepsis, a condition with a high mortality rate, and he was taken to the emergency room. He was loaded into an ambulance in such severe abdominal pain that he could not even walk, and he had to overcome several critical moments, including fluid around the heart and arrhythmia.
What drew the most attention was his change of heart. Known for his sharp barbs, he surprised everyone by saying during this illness, "God revealed himself to me. It was a miraculous experience, and since then I have found faith."
Raised in a Catholic household but close to being an atheist, he said the incident prompted him to send his i-dle to Catholic school and to attend church every Sunday. He also suggested a shift in life priorities, saying, "In the past I worked obsessively, sleeping only four to five hours a day, but now I will have dinner with my children and sleep more than eight hours to slow down the pace of life."
Perez Hilton also shared reflections he had while lying in bed following news from the world. He mentioned recent reports such as the death of action star Chuck Norris and the arrest of Britney Spears, adding, "I watched these reports on TV from my hospital room."
Once criticized for harshly attacking Britney Spears, he showed remorse for his past actions through this illness, saying, "I hope to become wiser as I get older."
Now recovering at home after being discharged, he still has a catheter in his arm connected up to his heart, but he thanked his fans, saying, "I'm happy to be back and send love to everyone."
