ITZY member Yuna held a countdown live to celebrate her solo debut and announced a successful start as a solo artist.
Yuna made her solo debut by releasing her first album Ice Cream and the title track of the same name at 6 p.m. on March 23. An hour before the album release, at 5 p.m., she held a countdown live on JYP Entertainment's official YouTube channel and took time to introduce her first solo album. In particular, to celebrate ITZY maknae Yuna's solo debut, members Yeji, Lia, Ryu Jin, and Chaeryeong joined her, adding to their closeness.
This live show featured several segments based on the concept of Yuna opening an ice cream shop. Following Yeji, Yuna is ITZY's second solo act. Yuna's new album Ice Cream includes four tracks in total, including the title track of the same name and tracks "B-Boy", "Blue Maze", and "Hyper Dream." The new release topped domestic album aggregation sites Hanteo Chart and Circle Chart real-time charts as of 7 p.m. on the 23rd immediately after release, and the title track "Ice Cream" rose to No. 1 on Bugs' real-time chart.
The title track, a catchy bubblegum pop song, combines a positive message — "this moment that melts sweetly like ice cream, don't miss it and enjoy it to the fullest" — with Yuna's bright, healthy energy to show a vivid charm. The music video also heightens immersion with Yuna's dance lines and bouncy expressiveness as the "performance queen" who shines most on the rhythm.
