The group Baby DONT Cry said that listening to the title track "Bittersweet" brought back memories of their trainee days.
Baby DONT Cry held a showcase to commemorate the release of their first mini album, AFTER CRY, at Blue Square in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, on the afternoon of the 24th and talked about the new album.
The title track "Bittersweet" is a song created when hit songwriter Kim Eana and producer Ryan Jhun joined forces, depicting bittersweet but sweet memories over bright and cheerful sounds. The members said that the song expresses emotions of moments that only remain in the heart after time has passed and will stimulate listeners' emotions.
Lee Hyun said, "It's a song that contains an ambiguous feeling that's sweet but somewhat bitter. As you listen, past memories will come to mind," adding, "I can say confidently. It's really good."
She added, "When I heard the title track, it reminded me exactly of the end-of-month evaluations during my trainee days. I remember being very nervous, receiving disappointing feedback and crying," adding, "Definitely, as you listen you recall painful but grateful memories that everyone has—because of those times, I am who I am now. It seems to be a song that evokes everyone's nostalgia."
Benni also said, "I trained from a young age, so I don't have many school-day memories. Listening to this song reminded me of the version of myself who set out early toward my dream, and I felt proud and experienced many emotions."
Meanwhile, Baby DONT Cry's first mini album AFTER CRY will be released on various online music sites from 6 p.m. that day.
