Ha Jiwon once again stamped her presence by delivering a shocking "blood-smeared performance" through ENA's Climax.
In the third episode of ENA's Climax, broadcast on the 23rd, Ha Jiwon played Choo Sang-ah, a fallen actress, revealing previously veiled past actions and repeatedly shocking viewers at home. In that episode, Choo Sang-ah was threatened by Park Jae-sang, who was about to be released from prison, with "If you don't keep your promise, I'll expose to the entire nation what kind of monster you are." Later, the existence of a recorded confession of a "murder-for-hire" in which Choo Sang-ah asked Park Jae-sang to kill famous entertainment producer Oh Kwang-jae was revealed, raising the drama's tension to its peak.
The highlight of that episode was the story hidden in the ill-fated relationship between Choo Sang-ah and Oh Kwang-jae. When Oh Kwang-jae demanded a coercive bed scene from rookie actress Han Ji-soo, Choo Sang-ah appeared on the scene and confronted him strongly, saying, "Behave yourself properly before you are expelled from the film industry. Send the contract; I'll pay the penalty,". Afterwards, to protect Han Ji-soo, Choo Sang-ah began a "rampage" and ultimately barged into Oh Kwang-jae's hotel room, staged a "madness" murder scene by driving a knife into Oh Kwang-jae's back after a violent struggle. Immediately afterward, the ending showed Choo Sang-ah, terrified by a knock on the guest room door, turning around with a "blood-smeared face", delivering chills and immersion.
Through this work, Ha Jiwon is freely navigating melodrama, action and thriller genres and delivering an all-out performance. In particular, she is praised for perfectly portraying a complex emotional arc in which she willingly becomes a "monster" to survive.
