"I Decided to Die" is based on the popular webtoon of the same name by writer YUJU. Serialized on Naver Webtoon from 2021 to 2023, this work drew great love for its delicate emotional lines between the male and female protagonists.
This work is a regression romance that tells the story of Ji-o, a third-year high school student preparing for the national taekwondo selection, and Cha-gyeol, who has a mysterious charm. In the story, Roh Yoon-seo plays the role of Nam Ji-o, a taekwondo athlete. Nam Ji-o is a character who injures his leg ahead of the national taekwondo selection, and while treating the injury he meets Cha-gyeol and feels attracted to him.
Roh Yoon-seo debuted in 2022 in the tvN drama "Our Blues" and, despite being a newcomer, left an impression with her acting. After that she won the newcomer award at the 59th Baeksang Arts Awards through "Crash Course in Romance," and she swept newcomer awards in film as well, leaving a strong presence on screen in movies such as "20th Century Girl" and "Hear Me: Our Summer."
Recently, after finishing filming the Netflix original "Donggung" set to be released this year, she was the subject of speculation that she would join the cast of the Disney+ hit drama "Moving season 2," generating attention. Amid this, by appearing as the female lead in "I Decided to Die," she is expected to further solidify her position as a leading actress.
Earlier, news had been reported that Lee Chae-min, who gained popularity from the success of "Bon Appétit, Your Majesty," was cast as the male lead Cha-gyeol. Expectations are rising for the meeting of these trending young actors.
