'Ask Us Anything Fortune Teller' French Papa said his autistic son is receiving education not in Korea but in Thailand.
On the afternoon of the 23rd, on KBS Joy entertainment show Ask Us Anything Fortune Teller, French Papa chef Lee Dong-jun, who participated in Culinary Class Wars 2, appeared.
Chef Lee Dong-jun mentioned his concern, saying, 'I cried while talking about my son on the autism spectrum on Culinary Class Wars 2, and afterward I was attacked with malicious comments saying I was 'exploiting stories.''
He went on to confess, "My child has almost no language ability. One thing I remember is that the child sometimes says certain words. Because he can't speak much, his tongue is stiff, but he speaks haltingly, a little at a time. At those times I'm so delighted. If I keep asking, he eventually says 'no.' At that moment my heart really breaks. It feels like I reached out my hand so much but failed to understand, like I couldn't understand as a parent."
He said he has three tear buttons, and that his 13-year-old son, who has autism spectrum disorder, is the first tear button. The second tear button is 'his wife,' and he said, "I am so sorry and grateful," with reddened eyes. Empathizing, Lee Soo-keun said, "The tear button can only be family."
Asked, "Are your family all in Korea now?", he replied, "My son and my wife returned to Korea two years ago, but the child only spoke English, so there was no suitable school to send him to in Korea. Special schools and international schools were also not easy. So he went to a school in Bangkok, Thailand, and is staying there. They have good special education there," he said.
Chef Lee Dong-jun said, "They told me I'm 'squeezing juice' (exploiting it)," and Seo Jang-hoon said, "I watched Culinary Class Wars 2, and because I appeared on my show 'Same Bed, Different Dreams 2' I watched it continuously, and a reasonable person would have no grounds to insult. There is no reason to curse. Rather, you would think, 'They must have had a lot of hardships' and wish them well. But anyone curses. They just want to pick a fight."
Seo Jang-hoon said, "Culinary Class Wars 2 ended not long ago. Some people recognize you in various places and want to visit your restaurant. But after a month passes and then some more time, it gradually quiets down. So you don't need to worry too much," and advised, "Another thing is that right now, more than that, so many people are showing interest in my food and our restaurant, so it's time to focus on repaying them with good food."
