Lee Seo-jin expressed determination that Dalradalra will be released on Netflix.
On the 24th, at the Netflix variety show Lee Seo-jin's Dalradalra production presentation held at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, Lee Seo-jin attended and spoke with producer Na Young-seok and producer Kim Ye-seul.
Lee Seo-jin's Dalradalra is an unscripted American wandering-variety show with no plans from Lee Seo-jin and producer Na Young-seok, featuring Lee Seo-jin, who considers Texas his second hometown as the "Texas enthusiast," and Na Young-seok's party following him, whose chaotic travels are expected to deliver cheerful laughter.
Following Three Idiots in Kenya, which drew attention with the Africa Kenya travelogue of reliable laugh makers Lee Soo-keun, Eun Ji-won and Kyuhyun, anticipation is growing as this is Na Young-seok's team's second variety show to be presented on Netflix.
That day Lee Seo-jin said about Dalradalra joining Netflix as part of the New York New York series, "Actually, Dalradalra started on New York New York. New York New York 2 was filmed for YouTube, but for the third one they said they'd do it with Netflix, so I thought I should work hard." He added, "On YouTube I was going to do it roughly, but because it's Netflix I felt I should do it diligently."
The producers likely felt similarly. Producer Na Young-seok explained, "It would be a lie to say there was no pressure. The project started as something we would enjoy filming for YouTube in between big programs when Lee Seo-jin had free time."
Na said, "Having the name Netflix attached was also pressuring, but on the other hand I was curious how Lee Seo-jin's travel content would be received on Netflix. It was burdensome but we filmed happily."
Producer Kim Ye-seul said, "New York New York was also filmed with a phone, a series shot simply. I was very worried explaining this filming method to Netflix. But they prepared the latest model phones to raise the quality. I thought, so this is a global platform," she said, drawing laughs.
Meanwhile, the Netflix variety show Na Young-seok's Dalradalra will be released today, the 24th.
