Artist Studio, the birthplace of super IPs that produced Reborn Rich, New Recruit and First Lady, is launching multiple drama productions in 2026 as it seeks to rebuild its reputation as a premier drama house.
Artist Studio is a subsidiary of Artist Group, a comprehensive entertainment corporation in which actor Lee Jung-jae is the largest shareholder, and is specialized in planning, developing and producing content such as films and drama. Furthermore, the parent company Artist Group last year formed a strategic partnership worth 18 billion won with Maeil Business Newspaper Media Group, laying the groundwork to target the global K-content market.
Artist Studio is accelerating production of diverse content across terrestrial broadcasters and OTT in 2026, proving itself to be a global content leader. First, it will produce the anticipated 2027 SBS project Seungsan Is Available, which drew attention with the casting of acclaimed actor Lee Je-hoon. With first filming set to begin in March, Artist Studio will act as a control tower to highlight the drama's artistic quality and the actors' capabilities in Seungsan Is Available.
Artist Studio has also confirmed production of a drama based on the popular Naver webtoon Ahosu Uridul and is proceeding with casting and script work. Reborn as Artist Studio's version of Ahosu Uridul with a sparkling sensibility true to the original and 200% actor sync, it aims to claim the drama throne continuing into 2027 as a youth romance.
Artist Studio plans to continue its box office momentum by starting production of a new drama aimed at airing on MBN in the second half of 2026. In addition, a variety of media content formats it owns across genres will also be produced one after another.
It is also actively pursuing entry into overseas content markets. Artist Studio completed signing an MOU with Seasky Cultura, a supplier partner to Chinese OTT platform iQIYI, to establish a foothold for entering the Chinese content market. In the first half of the year it plans to exclusively stream short-form dramas, completed with K-content production techniques, on iQIYI's global channel. Through an MOU with Shanghai Audio and Video Publishing House, a first-tier state-owned cultural corporation in Shanghai, it also plans to expand film and drama cultural exchanges between Korea and China and jointly promote films, drama, artist agent services and related businesses.
Artist Studio CEO Ahn Hyung-jo said, "Artist Studio is proving itself as a global content leader based on unmatched planning, ample funding and outstanding production capabilities," and added, "This year Artist Studio will complete the foundation for entering the Chinese market and will supply a variety of genres and formats, including miniseries and serial dramas, to terrestrial broadcasters, OTT, general programming and cable broadcasters. Please pay attention to Artist Studio's remarkable achievements in 2026."
