Actor Yu Jun-Sang shines as an 'enthusiasm man' perfectly suited for SBS's Whenever Possible.
The SBS variety show Whenever Possible (directed by Choi Bo-pil/writer Chae Jin-ah) is a "gap targeting" variety that gifts luck during brief spare moments encountered in daily life. Based on the last episode's broadcast, it achieved a peak viewership rating of 5.4% and a 2049 rating of 1.6%, ranking first in its time slot as well as first among all dramas and variety shows aired on Tuesday, continuing its winning streak. (Nielsen Korea, metropolitan area) The episode airing on Tue., the 24th, will feature the two MCs Yu Jae-seok and Yoo Yeon-seok alongside actors Yu Jun-Sang and Kim Gun-woo emitting dopamine full of passion in Changsin-dong.
From the opening, Yu Jun-Sang grabbed attention with a booming musical voice. As soon as he sat down, Yu Jun-Sang began reciting the history of Changsin-dong, saying, "I was born in Changsin-dong, and I know all the famous people who lived here. I am proud of Changsin-dong," and started listing its history one after another. Startled by Yu Jun-Sang's blazing enthusiasm, Yu Jae-seok asked, "So you still live here?" and Yu Jun-Sang hesitated for a moment before sheepishly saying, "I live in Bundang now," provoking uproarious laughter. Soon after, having regained his pace, Yu Jun-Sang continued into a musical talk without a breather, leaving Yu Jae-seok and Yoo Yeon-seok unable to recover.
Yu Jun-Sang's passion gap did not end there. Unlike his fluent, rapid-fire stories about Changsin-dong, he revealed a clumsy side by becoming vague when asked about his son's latest condition.
When Yu Jun-Sang even called his wife Hong Eun-hee for an SOS to find out his son's discharge date, Yu Jae-seok could not hold back laughter, saying, "You can talk so much about Changsin-dong but you don't know your son's discharge date!" Moreover, although Yu Jun-Sang confidently began guiding the way around Changsin-dong, he kept exclaiming "delicious" at every restaurant he saw and then admitted, "Actually I don't know any good restaurants. Everything is delicious," showing unfounded confidence and turning the scene into a sea of laughter, the report said.
Whether the game's success on Whenever Possible will follow amid Yu Jun-Sang's passion and clumsiness, and whether the laughter-filled synergy of Yu Jae-seok, Yoo Yeon-seok, Yu Jun-Sang and Kim Gun-woo will be captured, anticipation for the Whenever Possible broadcast is soaring.
Meanwhile, the Tuesday healing variety show on SBS, Whenever Possible, which will feature more refined chat chemistry and dopamine-exploding games, airs every Tuesday at 9 p.m.
