'My Little Old Boy' actor Lee Ho-cheol candidly revealed painful financial circumstances caused by failed stock investments and the harsh reality of living in a monthly rental.
On the 22nd episode of SBS's 'My Little Old Boy' (hereafter 'My Little Old Boy'), footage showed Bae Jung-nam, Tae Hang-ho and Kim Hee-cheul visiting Lee Ho-cheol's home.
While looking around the spacious house layout, Kim Hee-cheul asked, "Ho-cheol, is this a owned home?" and Lee Ho-cheol replied, "No, it's a monthly rental," revealing that he currently lives in a rental rather than an owned home.
The revealed monthly rent surprised the cast. Lee Ho-cheol said the rent is 1,200,000 won, and that including maintenance fees the fixed monthly cost is about 1,500,000 won.
In response, Kim Hee-cheul sympathized, saying, "My house is about this big too. I keep wanting to move to a smaller place. Cleaning is hard, and it feels wasteful because money goes toward maintenance fees and things," and expressed empathy. In response to Kim Hee-cheul's complaint, Lee Ho-cheol offered his own quirky but cool logic, saying, "Then don't do it, cleaning."
When asked whether he had plans to buy a home, Lee Ho-cheol confessed, "You need money. I ruined myself investing in stocks," admitting his stock investment failure. He said he had invested his entire fortune but currently has a return of -60%, and drew attention by declaring, "I will never trade stocks again."
