Group WJSN member Dayoung has confirmed a solo comeback.
Starship Entertainment unexpectedly posted a coming soon image and the phrase COMING SOON. APRIL on Dayoung's official social media on the 22nd, announcing Dayoung's comeback in April.
The released image grabbed attention with a strong pink-toned mood. The staging, which revealed only part of Dayoung's appearance, aroused curiosity, and the phrase "What's a girl to do" heightened anticipation for what message and music it will lead to.
This comeback comes about eight months after the solo debut digital single released last September, "gonna love me, right? (gonna love me, right?)." At the time, Dayoung participated in the overall planning and production of the album, was credited with lyrics and composition, and took a successful first step as a solo artist by conveying her sincerity toward music and performance.
In particular, the title track "body" showcased Dayoung's new musical color and visuals at the same time, imprinting a strong presence. After its release it ranked as high as No. 9 on Melon's top 100 and No. 17 on the monthly chart, and it has continued to enjoy steady popularity, surpassing 10 million cumulative streams. In addition, Dayoung won first place on music shows with "body," and proved both newsworthiness and popularity by winning the Best Solo Artist Female category at the 2025 Korea Grand Music Awards.
The popularity of "body" continued overseas. The song was included on lists of the best K-pop of 2025 compiled by Britain's NME, the U.S. Billboard and The Hollywood Reporter, and U.S. teenVogue magazine named the "body" music video as one of the best K-pop music videos of 2025, demonstrating its global influence.
Dayoung is set to perform on her first Waterbomb stage on July 26, and expectations are building about what kind of music she will present as a solo singer with this comeback.
