Group Shinhwa member Kim Dong Wan faced repeated criticism over an SNS post, and a person claiming to be a former manager posted an exposé. In response, Kim Dong Wan said the claims were unfounded and mentioned legal action.
On the morning of the 23rd, Kim Dong Wan posted on his personal SNS, "The content currently being circulated is false claims that do not reflect the facts."
He went on, "I will not comment on personal relationships. If the spreading false information continues, I will take all civil and criminal legal measures," he emphasized.
This appears to be in response to the exposé by the former manager that was posted the day before. Earlier, the person claiming to be a former manager posted on SNS, "Ah, seriously, I had nothing to say but.. years ago or now, how can it be exactly the same? Articles after drinking and doing that damn clubhouse, fighting with fans on Instagram Live after drinking," and "This time, did he want to be a hero or is he sane or not, problems from drunk driving, and recently, during a live broadcast he assaulted a BJ MC ㄷㄷ cheering? And he blocks people who said things that were true," they wrote.
The former manager said, "Dongwan hyung, you really did not listen much even when I was your manager, right? I wasn't just a rookie road manager who only drove, was I? I saw the previous manager leave as if running away and wondered why.. hyung, it would be better for you to work with a mute rookie manager for life!"
He added, "Hyung, you might not remember that you called me a sociopath.. get to know hyung first before judging others. When I see people who still fangirl and leave comments because they like hyung, it sometimes looks truly pitiful! As you know, the gap between hyung and the fans is huge. Right?" and "Hyung, living an ordinary celebrity life is beneficial for everyone's health," he added.
Finally, the former manager said, "And hyung, you asked me to get you a musical because you needed cash, and I personally contacted CEO Shin of the Something Rotten production company who happened to be casting and raised the appearance fee to the maximum, but suddenly you said you didn't want to do it, do you know how awkward that was?" and "But after I resigned, Something Rotten appearance?? For whatever reason, from then on you were a real jerk to me," he said angrily.
At present, the post by the person who identified themselves as the former manager has been deleted.
Meanwhile, Kim Dong Wan recently faced backlash for publicly supporting MC Dingdong, who was embroiled in controversy for assaulting a female BJ, not long after Kim stirred controversy with remarks about legalizing prostitution.
MC Dingdong, while conducting an internet live broadcast known as "excel broadcast," became embroiled in controversy for grabbing female BJ A's hair and committing an assault. MC Dingdong apologized, saying, "I had almost no work for a year and a half and was just trying to get back to work, and when a past incident was suddenly brought up my emotions became heightened. Comments that reminded me of the incident two years ago triggered trauma."
In this situation, Kim Dong Wan shared MC Dingdong's SNS account with the post, "Anyone who would cheer for Dingdong for no reason?" As criticism grew, Kim Dong Wan said, "It was an expression that did not sufficiently consider the situation. I will delete the post."
