Actor Kim Jaewon returns as Kim Go-eun's man.
Kim Jaewon, who plays Shin Sun-rok in the TVING series "Yumi's Cells" season 3, which premieres on April 13, participated in fashion magazine Elle's April issue pictorial. Having past experience as a model, Kim Jaewon perfectly understood the mood of the shoot and posed naturally and professionally.
After the pictorial shoot, in an interview Kim Jaewon began talking about his second meeting with Elle. Unlike the previous pictorial, which had a refreshing concept, this one revealed a strong masculinity. When asked which of the two concepts was closer to him, he said, "The latter. So far I have played fresh, boyish characters, but now I want to play characters with weight and maturity. It's the process of going from boy to man," speaking about the kinds of roles he wants to play in the future.
When asked, "What common traits do the characters you want to become share?" Kim Jaewon said, "In the end, it's 'pure love.' The characters I've played so far were all the type to pursue one-sided devotion. Rowoon in "King the Land" portrayed a straightforward romance toward senior peace (played by Go Won-hee), Rian in "Hierarchy" showed one-sided devotion toward Jae-e (played by Roh Jeong-Eui) despite a bad personality. Ji-hwon in "Lady Dua" is a host bar player, but it was very interesting that he comes to truly love someone," he explained.
When asked whether Sun-rok, whom he plays in "Yumi's Cells" season 3, which will be released in April, is a one-sided lover, he said, "If you look at the tendency to immerse himself in one thing he likes, you could call it one-sided devotion. Sun-rok immerses himself only in what he finds interesting. In that sense, he resembles me," and added, "When working he is rational, and on holidays he spends time in his own way as well."
About actress Kim Go-eun, who plays Yumi, he said, "What remains in my memory from working together is that even though the senior is much more experienced and older than me, she did not touch my acting and really respected the junior's opinions. I felt that reliability and think of her as a good adult and senior. I feel fortunate to meet a senior with such excellent acting skills at this time," he said, expressing his respect for actress Kim Go-eun.
About what he wants to explore further as an actor, he confessed, "The form I want to explore is theater. Because I learned acting based on theater both at art high school and university, the first time I encountered acting was on stage. I know to some extent the thrill of a curtain call when a performance ends successfully. I want to feel that emotion again someday." He showed fervent affection for the world of acting, saying, "Theater seems to have the power to help an actor hold on to his original passion.
